What was on your moms list, (if you know) My dad wanted to name me Madelyn after his mother...my mom didn't want to, so my dad said he'd like an A name. She bought a nighty to wear at the hospital and the tag said "Amanda" she thought that was nice. She wanted to name me Heaven originally.

My mother wanted to name me Cherokee, and despite being very German, and very Irish, I suppose that name would have been the most trouble once they realized I was a red head.I was very grateful that my father won that argument and I got Rebecca.

If I was a boy I was going to be named after my late uncle Ricky... I'm sort of glad that didn't happen either.

April Mae........seriously. Thank god my dad put stop to that (I have no problem with the names April or Mae but together is a little much sorry if that's someone's name). My dad wanted Melissa, they "settled" on Alicia, thanks guys haha

Dema Della - after my grandmothers. Nickname - DD. Thank God for the Waylon Jennings song Amanda... But then they added Lynn. So together it sounds like Mandolin.

I think I was going to be Matthew if I was a boy. I'm sure dad was pushing Leroy. He calls my nephew that all the time.

My dad wanted scott for me if i were a boy. It ended up being my husband's middle name too so we are using it for this LO's middle name. Lets us name him after dad with a nod to grandpa while still giving him his own first name. Melissa & Lauren were other options for me as a girl.

My mom really like Melody (my dad was a musician, so she thought it would be cute). Dad had concerns about me being called "Mel". He picked my name instead.

Had I been a boy I would have been Michael Palmer, after my Dad's brother who had passed away.

I was going to be Eric Richard if I was a boy. My name was actually Allison up until I was born....that was the delivery nurse's name and she told my parents that she hated it...so my dad told my mom that they needed to change it.

I am a twin, however my parents didnt know I was even coming till I was born. The dr thought my mom was going to have a 10lb boy and she had 2 5 lb girls.

My name was the runner up name to my sisters name. They settled on Nicole for her and had the back up Melissa when I was born :-)

My mom wanted to name me Amanda, but her cousin "stole" the name, so I'm now Christina Louise! (Louise after her aunt who passed before I was born.) My older brother wanted to name me Cinderella. If I were a boy, my dad wanted to name me Doc after his dad, but my mom said that was never happening. Thank God haha

For a girl they considered Susan Elizabeth, because my brother had nicknamed me "Subity" while I was in the womb and they thought that was a way to get to it ("Sue Betty")... They ultimately decided on Kathryn Alicia, and I have been called Alicia since day 1.

My mom liked Tara and Emily for me but my dad insisted on all of my siblings and me having names with 5 letters and 2 syllables. He had no reason for this rule but he held it true for all 4 of us. I just realized now that my baby's name is 5 letters 2 syllables and it wasn't on purpose!

My dad is Claudio Luis...He wanted to name me Claudia Luisa. Thank the lord someone was able to talk him out of that. My moms childhood love for Annette Funicello won the name game!

I was almost Sarah, but my dad's mom hated the name (why, I have no idea), so my parents came up with something else.

ETA: Also, my brother was almost Michael, but my aunt and uncle (dad's brother) called the name because of pretty legitimate family reasons and ended up using it years later on my cousin. My brother ended up with the MN Michael instead, FN Timothy. I guess my parents were just pushovers when it came to names? Haha.
