Belly girdle <3

Just thought I'd share this.  My kiddo has been really low since the beginning, and the bladder pressure and discomfort lately has been awful.  I have a simple belly girdle (just a belt that slings under my belly), which helped in first tri but doesn't do anything for me now.

Yesterday I got something like this at Motherhood:

I feel SO much better.  It seemed to take a lot of the pressure off of my bladder.  I asked my chiro about it this morning, and he said this kind of wide belt is great for taking pressure off of your pelvis, which is what I needed.

So, PSA if you're uncomfortable, these giant belts that I used to side-eye are actually pretty great :)  The dress I'm wearing today is on the flowy side, so it isn't showing under my clothes.  Score.

I just ordered something similar to try and lift baby girl up.  She is currently blocking circulation to my left leg so I am swelling pretty bad on that side!

Yikes, I hope it helps!  I've definitely been going to the bathroom less with this thing on, it seems to have lifted him up a lot.  Whew.  Yesterday I was going every 15 minutes, today I've been able to go over an hour between bathroom trips.  Score!

It shows on my comment that I said "blocking" twice but when I go in to edit it and take it out, it's not there.  Something screwy is going on! Plus I'm stuck in the dang quote box.

  • @LTMama Thank you!  I'm glad it gave you relief.  I'm hoping for the same.  I've been feeling a lot of tugging and uncomfortable stretching happening below my bump too when I stand up or roll over in bed, so I hope it helps with that too.  :)

  • I need this.  My friend let me borrow hers, but it's pretty thin all the way around.  I need a bigger one like this.

  • do you find your lungs are any more squished with the belly being pushed up more?
  • I wish they had something like this to push baby down a little bit. I feel like my stomach is being forced up my esophagus.

Not at all!  My belly sticks out so far now that pushing it up doesn't shove it into my lungs, it just pushes the protruding part up, if that makes sense.

@reverey, since you asked in the ticker change thread :)
