Peed on the stick!

So, I'm on CD 25, and had some faint Wonfo tests, I peed on a digital this AM and it said Pregnant! (EDD March 9 or 10)

I am a FTM, and this is my first cycle of trying so I am completely shocked. I never expected it so soon. (Delighted, but really surprised) And I'm really nervous about it. I read about how common CPs are..

I called the Dr, and she ordered a blood test, I went today, results due tomorrow or Monday.. She said they won't bring me in until 8-10 weeks.. I was sorta bummed, I wanted the pep talk.

I'll continue peeing on sticks for a while lol

So far I am queasy... nearly all day long.. Random crampy feelings and boob pains too.

So anyway... Hello!

Congrats and welcome! Happy and health nine months! I think most of us are in the same boat with our OBs, except those with previous losses. I had my betas drawn today; they can't even guarantee I'll need to go in for a second draw.

Like I said, I'm a FTM... and we JUST started trying, so the lingo is new to me...

How does this normally go? They said over the phone that they "might not even be able to tell" with a blood test since I haven't missed my period yet.. (LMP 6/2)..

So is a "pregnancy blood test" the beta test? Measuring level of the HCG hormone I assume? Is there a different kind of blood test for pregnancy that they may have been referring to?

Beginning to think I need to shop around for a new OBGYN, unless I got a ditzy receptionist.. today or something. She asked me what hospital I want... WTF... I peed on a stick like 6 hours ago... I haven't decided yet!

She probably asked about the hospital because some of their doctors may have privileges at one hospital and not others. It's ok if you haven't decided.

Yes, the beta test checks your HCG levels. You'll have one test and likely another 2-3 days later. They are looking for that number to double every 48-72 hrs.

For what it's worth, I have a previous/recent loss and my Dr didn't even order betas. She will see me at 9 weeks.

Congrats! I don't see my OB until 8 weeks, they'll do an US then. I had a phone appt yesterday and got to talk with an ob nurse for about 30 mins. It was great.

Glad you're here!... and FWIW - I pee on all the sticks I still have daily! (I got a crap load on a Amazon deal with OPKs) Watching that dark line makes me feel all warm and fuzzy since I don't have much symptoms.

@islandbreezy I hear ya! We had a faint line yesterday, Hubby wanted the digital. Even so we're still pretty shocked! I'll pee on the rest of the sticks I own... Not going to buy any more.

I'll admit to peeing on another stick this morning, mostly because my symptoms didn't seem as bad as a few days ago. Felt good to see the positive line turn darker than the control. Anyone else still have all their tests lined up on the bathroom counter? .... Just me?

@BostonAlison‌, I'm a Boston- area FTM too! We are also in our first month of trying and I totally relate to your delight and surprise and nervousness feelings. Also the nausea- I sure can relate to that too!

I'm still peeing on sticks. This morning did CB weeks (bc it came in a 3 pack) I did one Sunday that said 1-2 weeks post O and the second one today said 2-3, just nice to see progressing and all, paranoia!!!

I tested the morning after my first BFP on my last FRER and the line was darker so I'm just leaving it at that. Peeing on tests won't do me any good except make me worry if the line isn't as dark as Id like.

Welcome and congratulations! My midwife doesn't see me until 8 weeks, it is normal. Ask away if you have questions, there are a bunch of STMs here. Also, I am in camp keeping my sticks for at least a bit longer...

Congrats! Yes, 8-10 weeks is typical to be seen. Also, some practices don't do beta's depending on your circumstances. If you've never had a miscarriage or complication, they might not. I only had initial blood drawn when I was pregnant with DD. This time around since I'm at another practice, I'm not exactly sure what they do. I haven't scheduled it yet to be quite honest because I know I have time.

Congrats!!!

I peed on sticks Sun through Tues and they are still on my bathroom counter. My OB/GYN practice did have me come in for a "confirm visit" on Weds but all they did was check my pee and do a quick pelvic exam. The midwife did give me a "congratulations" packet and went over some dos/don'ts, but it really wasn't anything I didn't already know. I go back for my first "real" appt at 10 weeks. I have 2 CB digitals yet and I think I will pee on one tomorrow just for kicks (of course I will prob be upset if it doesn't say more than the 1-2 Weeks that it did on Sunday).

Congrats & Welcome! I've never peed on a digital, but I'm going to this time. I think I will wait until Saturday though to make sure I can turn it at 14dpo.
