Does everyone still sleep 24/7?

I've seen a couple posts about the second trimester "energy boost" being a big fat myth and I'm confident that that's correct.

I go to work, am home by around 5 & then almost every night sleep from 8pm-7am all while tossing, turning, sweating, getting up to pee, and waking up from crazy dreams.

Basically I feel like a slob and I feel bad that DH just sits around all the time watching me sleep. Anyone else??? :/

My sleep has lessened a ton in the past month, but this past week I feel exhausted all over again. I feel like a bump on a log a lot... But try to stay awake until at least 930.

  • I'm on board with believing it's a myth also.

I'm more tired now than in the first tri with worse nausea. I can barely keep my eyes open past 8pm. I used to get up around 5am every morning without an alarm clock and now I'm hitting snooze right until the last second so I can make it to work on time for 9am!

I feel bad because DH wants to plan "fun" things to do this summer but I'm scared I'm going to be too tired and sick to follow through

    terberell Heard. THAT.

We went to the zoo a couple weekends ago and my fears were confirmed. My back/legs/feet were killing me and I was so exhausted. It took me almost 5 days to be normal after that and I was no 'complainy' that it was annoying to even me!

    Just let me sleep :(

  • I'm still tired but not AS tired as I was during the First Tri.  Most days I don't nap after work but I'm still in bed by 10.  :)

I feel like I'd be less tired if I didn't have to get up and pee 3+ times/night.

  • I'm definitely not as tired as First Tri. I am one of those lucky people who did get an energy boost when I started into my Second Tri (don't hate me!). I still go to bed around 9 pm and have a restless sleep until 6 am, but I am not as zonked all the time for sure.

I went to NYC last weekend walked everywhere and although I was exhausted, I was able to get through the day.

  • Yup. That's about the same agenda we have over here.

I was so excited because (after being in bed for THREE days with a migraine), I started feeling better last night and was all set to stay up "late" (8 p.m.)  and watch America's Got Talent when it was actually on (vs. DVR)...only to find out it was a rerun.

  • For me it comes and goes. I'm not passing out at 7 every night anymore, but I do get wore out easier. Also the midday naps are still pretty frequent. I have been waking up earlier than i was too. Ds usually sleeps till 8-8:30 and i was too for a while, but lately i'm wide awake at 7.

  • I have been so tired this week. I find myself napping everyday. At night I toss and turn and just can't get comfortable so that must have something to do with my need to nap.

  • Second Tri energy is a crock of poo.  I get up at 6, leave for work at 7 and nap on the bus while commuting till 8...work all day and nap on commute home from 5-6 and then I'm ready for bed at 9:30 after SS goes to bed.  I could totally use a mid-day siesta too,

  • Yup, I call BS on the whole "honeymoon period" of the 2nd trimester.  First tri, I was a little tired and queasy-that was it.  Now, I vomit more, can't brush my teeth without dry heaving, have constant headaches, and get dizzy when I shower in anything but cold water.  Ugh, it's all worth it, but I'm hoping the third trimester will be a little easier.  There, now I've complained and I feel better.   ;)

  • Since March I have been napping daily when DS goes down. Some days I manage not to (today was one) but it's rare. I wouldn't say I get boosts of energy, just boosts of nesting and needing to do something and opting to get something done rather than sleep. When I was pregnant with DS I would come home from work and lay on the couch or in bed half asleep until I went to bed around 8-9.

  • I'm definitely feeling a second tri energy boost, but the past few weeks I've been pretty tired around 2pm.  The stuff I've been reading mostly says that the baby is really beefing up and building muscle around this time, so I'm assuming that's why.  I'm also a good bit more active now than I was during first tri when I felt like craaaap.

  • I've noticed that I'm much more tired compared to when I wasn't pregnant, but less so than first tri.  For example. I've been unpacking the last few days and I just get tired more quickly than I did last time I unpacked, when I wasn't KU.  So yeah, 2nd boost, maybe compared to first tri, but it's nothing special for me.

  • I'm not as energized as I was pre-pregnancy (obviously), but I'm not as tired as I was during 2nd tri.

I felt the same way with my last pregnancy too. Was "okay" up until week 28 or so - then I was just a swollen, insomnia-ridden, miserable woman.

Try to enjoy the 2nd tri while you can :)

  • I did get the second tri boost BUT it has officially worn off this week. I have been so tired and sluggish. Maybe it's because I have a little cold.
