TTC Tuesday?

Hi All! since we already have a few pregnant momma's and momma's with new squishy's I'm curious who is TTC? Should we have a weekly check-in for support?

Me and my H want to start TTC but are currently on hold while me and my doctor try to figure out why I am not having a period. Haven't had one since end of March. So far all the labs are checking out as normal and she can't explain it so I have currently stopped my Birth control as of monday and am hoping this will help, if not I have to call my doctor in 4 weeks if I still don't have one.

So anyone else trying?

No thank you please.  One strong willed child is enough for me in an 894 sq ft house, thank you very much. LOL

If we do actively TTC on purpose again, it won't be for a couple years probably.

That said, good luck to all you TTCers!

  • I can't decide if I want to the end of this summer or next summer. If I can help it I would rather not be pregnant in the summer but I'm very aware that I might not be able to control that. So they will either be 2 1/2 or 3 1/2 years apart. My husband hasn't really said what he is thinking so there is that too. We don't know yet...

Good luck to everyone who is TTC!
  • We will be starting in August.
  • I was surprisingly disappointed when AF showed up this morning. While we aren't "trying" per se, we were a bit lax with protection the past few weeks. I guess that puts me on the TTC train. DH has been ready for about 6 months now, so we will make more serious attempts in the coming weeks/months.

  • So glad that there are a few others who are thinking about it.  My H was ready to try for #2 when Wesley was 6 months old but I wasn't ready yet. Now just fingers crossed I get my period so we can start.

  • We tried the last two months without success. I would really like a summer baby next year, but with AMA I don't want to wait for the "perfect" time. We will keep trying but not going crazy and see what happens.
  • We never stopped trying....

I am quite discouraged at the moment.

I would love a TTC check in.  As you can see, my cycles are still wonky and were before - so I'm not sure what to expect.  Just crossing our fingers I guess.

First of all, you guys are making my ovaries twitch big time. We are thinking of adopting again, but not for a couple years. I don't know how people make it work for daycare for two little ones. It is insane. Tips? Good luck to all you (traditional) TTCers!

I just keep hoping I will win the lottery. So far, this technique has been unsuccessful.

But in all seriousness, we considered the alternative, which was to wait until Henry was in kindergarten (this is the first significant drop in daycare costs). By then, our kids would have been six years apart. Since we didn't want that kind of age gap or to be having kids too far into our 30s, we decided it was going to be something we'd have to suck up and just do. We got a sibling discount from our daycare, but it's not significant...and I am honestly stressing about how we will make it work. This is why I am looking for a better job and may have to just quit and stay at home. We will see...but it's a relatively temporary (albeit crushing) expense, so we went for it.

For us, the issue is not so much DC costs but age (specifically mine, 36) and MH's job. He is leaving the military (which makes planning TTC difficult with deployments and away-from-home training) but is starting law school in the fall (which obviously has its own challenges with time). Ideally, we'd wait until he graduates, but by then I'll be 39. Most likely we'll plan for a due date that will be after his first year of law school is over, which will give me enough time at my new job to be eligible for maternity leave.
I am all for having a kid at 39. That's normal around here.
Our cost of daycare is so nuts 2 would be more than my take home pay and we really aren't in a position to be a one job family.

I thought I wanted more but I am feeling one and done these days. well, 1.5 and done.

a TTC thread would annoy the sh*t out of me.

  • We will think about TTC in August / September, we wanted to try sooner but DS has been a monster lately and I can't deal with his temper-tantums. I can't imagine being pregnant and being head-butted or kicked in the stomach, head and face.

  • Jumping on late to this one - it's been a loooonnnnggg week at work and I haven't had my usual bump time!  We've been trying for a second since November.  The first one was easy and this one, well.....no luck yet.  One CP and starting to worry some.  Maybe this month....

  • Been trying here for a few months.  The last couple months I just haven't had it in me to really try.  This month we only DTD once during my fertile days.  It would be nice if I had more of a libido.

I try not to get too up in arms about the (my)age thing.  But I would like them to be fairly close in age.

  • Oh yes, @mbm1983, wine helps a lot.  DH would have me be a lush.  He brings home wine for me sometimes.  Problem is, 50% of the time wine also makes me not want to do anything but sit on the couch.

  • I have a super low libido too and wine is no help at all. Wine just makes me sleepy.
