I took a norco earlier to help take the edge off the latching pain. I think in going to keep that up until I can get some help on Thursday.
This! I have norco for my c/s but at this point I think it is more for my nipples than the large incision in my stomach. The first 20 seconds of nursing is the worst.
LO has fell asleep twice for like 5 minutes each. Everytime I put him down he wakes up. This was after rocking him for two hours which included two feeding sessions. It's gonna be a long night.
DD is doing this tonight too. She'll sleep while I'm holding her, but wakes up 5 min after I try to put her down. Yay...
I've given up waiting for LO to wake up and eat so I'm pumping. I don't like giving him a bottle more than once a day and this means he'll get a bottle in the next hour when he finally wakes and again at his next feeding around 4am (that's dh's shift) But danm I need some sleep and my nips need a break!

Both of my boys do this. They will stay asleep as long as they are touching me or DH, but 2-3 mins after we put them down to get something important done, they are crying again!
This is my first MOTN post. Just came home from hospital today. I miss the nurses. Baby just gave me a near heart attack bc he spit up a little bit of what appeared to be brown blood. I called nurses at hospital family center and they said it sounds normal, either swallowed during delivery or from my nipples, which definitely are cracked and bleed occasionally. Said if happens again then call ped. Now I'm wide awake and on alert and think I may have gotten 5 hours of sleep total since Friday night. Thanks for listening
Feel like I have missed SO much on here since Friday! Congrats to everyone who met their munchkins! So many birth stories to catch up on! LO has her first diaper rash which coincided with her first 3 day cluster feeding. This equaled her waking up to feed every 30-90 minutes, which led to her screaming in pain while she pooped every time she ate. I slept about an hour each day. Finally done cluster feeding and getting back on a more "normal" schedule. Unfortunately my nipples are killing me after the rampage and LO has decided to be a lazy latcher tonight so I have to keep unlatching her. I'm sitting here in tears while DH sleeps. I need to change her diaper too and I am dreading it because she now cries the whole time even though the rash is almost gone ( I just want to sleep!!!
ETA: because spell check doesn't like latching either apparently
Charlie only slept about an hour and a half after his last feed and I was still pissed at dh so instead of stay up and try another feed, I took him to the couch with me, side lie nursed and slept there...magical. So nice to be able to sleep a bit while he ate and then he fell asleep and I think ibgor close to a four hour stretch! Totally understand bed sharing now.
We are still on the every two hour schedule round the clock like he has an alarm clock. I am finding myself really missing DH on the days he has to work because I let him sleep instead of him getting up with me.
Charles is currently waking up every half hour, nursing for two minutes, pooping, and going back to sleep again...apparently I make a great laxative...
My little guy has been spitting up a ton for the past 3 weeks. Took him to the Dr last week (concerned it was reflux). Dr said that bc he isn't crying after spitting up & bc he's still gaining weight, not to worry about it. I was glad to not need to give him meds, but he is gagging and spitting up something terrible! I wish there was something to clear it up, so that I could put him on his back without fear that he will choke to death. .
I completely understand your frustration. My older son was a terrible spitter. Sometimes I was convinced he'd spit up his entire bottle! Like your LO, he had no trouble gaining weight and didn't seem to be in pain - he just spit up a ton. Our doctor did put him on reflux meds and they really didn't help at all. He eventually just grew out of it.

Good to know they grow out of this. Both my boys do this but Kellan is worse than Connor about it. Not only does ig worry me, but it's pretty gross lmao

Oh yeah, completely disgusting. I can't tell you how many outfits he ruined! Bibs were our best friend... he literally wore one 24/7.
@Savvy122 -- thanks, so good to know he'll eventually grow out of it. His bro N doesn't really do it & is by far surpassing him in weight.
@CJnKR2014 & @emilyh107 -- glad I'm not alone. Yes, we have a million soaked bibs, too! ... And Q has slept in his own spit up several times. Yuck & brrr!
Out of curiosity, vaginal births or c-sections? I ask because Q was my c-section baby. N was not.
Hmm, I never really considered whether there was a correlation. My first was a c-section (crazy happy spitter); my second was a VBAC and he has spit up maybe twice, ever.
My LO has terrible acid reflux and on top of already spitting up a all the time he's kind of a puker too... He was a vaginal baby. Hope he grows out of it because it's miserable for me to watch how miserable he is.
