Just curious how our April babies are sleeping these days. I realize we have over a 4 week age gap with some of them, but what is the longest stretch of sleep you are CONSISTENLY getting at night? Not the fluke nights, but the usual night.

Re: Longest stretch of sleep

  • Dd has started sleeping 7pm-4:30am, and again till between 7-8am. She will be two months on Thursday.

Now if I could just get my 3 year old to sleep past 5am I could actually feel rested

  • Voted 3-5, but it's usually about five and a half hours.
  • DS sleeps from 9 or 9:30 to 3 or 3:30, so about 6 hours and then gets up between 5-7. If I'm lucky then he goes back to sleep until 9.

  • 3-3.5, 4 if I'm lucky. Only happens once overnight then it's usually 2-2.5 after that.

    This.
  • we got 8-9 all last week and then last night she woke up at 9, 10, 11, 1, 3, 5, 7 WTAF baby! That is the WORST it has been since we've been home from the hospital. :(

This sounds like my nights! Although this time between feeds, actual sleep is much less :(

  • Just started with first stretch being 5 hours! 2 days so far!

  • For the last few days she's been sleeping from 10-5 straight through I hope this is going to become the norm
  • Usually asleep by 9/10, up between 1 and 2. Then back to sleep followed by a serious grunting fest around 430/5. Up for the day around 830.
  • She sleeps 8-9 hours, has a bottle and then sleeps another 3 hours.

  • LO sleeps 7-9 hours straight a night, but goes down at 7-8 pm so we are up early. It's hard to get more than 1 full hour after that.

The one person who said 12 must not understand the question. Or their baby is a robot. Cuz let's face it, I'm an adult and I can't go 12 hours between meals.
Emma slept for 12 hours straight last weekend. Last bottle at 8:45pm and didn't wake to eat until 8am. Hasn't happened since.

  • Lukas usually goes to bed between 7:30 and 8. I unfortunately haven't even successful with a dream feed (he's too asleep). Then gets up around 2 to eat and then usually again at 5 or so and up for the day sometime between 7 and 8:30

  • My DD slept 7-7 by the time she was 3 months. Straight thru no waking. Clearly I hit the lottery with her. But my DS (11 wks ) is making up for it since he is a shitty night and day sleeper.

    Shitty day sleeper here too.

He usually sleeps from 10 pm to 2-3 am before waking for a feed then when he goes back to sleep it's usually until 7-8 but lately he's wanted to eat at 5 am as well

My DD was the same way. Actually sleeping 12 hours through at night.  I knew that was a fluke.  DS not so good.  Still waking usually twice sometimes three times a night.

  • I said 3-5 but it's more like 2-3 and a half consistently. We had an awesome sleep last night after she fought sleep for hours and finally passed out around midnight. Got 5 hours out of her, then she ate and slept 5 more.... I want that EVERY NIGHT!!!

  • LO is 10.5wks and consistently goes 3, then 2.5-3 twice more. We had two nights of 5. I would kill to get back to that. I've tried everything!
  • I too voted 12 hours. It happened twice, DD has been consistent with 10-11ish hours straight though . This just happened when she hit around 8wks. She is almost 13wks now & the past 3 days has gotten up at 6am to eat (8.5hr stretch) & then will sleep right after eating for another hour or 2.

  • Mine goes down around 11:30 every night and sleeps till about 8am. Then she will eat and go back down till around noon. I am certainly NOT complaining!

  • Damn! What am I doing wrong that my baby won't go more than 3 hours between feedings? This means sleep stretches if about 2 hours max!
  • I don't want to jinx myself but the past few days she's been sleeping 9pm til 7am [-O< I must have done something right in my past life!
  • Well we had a glorious week of eight hour stretches but now we seem to be back to two four hour stretches. Not the worst, but my body can definitely tell the difference!

  • Nally sleeps from about 10pm til 6am and then after a quick change and bottle will sleep again from 6:30-8am.
However my 4 yr old is up and ready for the day as early as 5am.

  • I got lucky with my LO! Since the day she turned 5 weeks, she's been sleeping through the night! She turned 9 weeks on Monday! We usually do tubby time around 8 with a quick 5 minute lotion massage after. I feed her and she's in bed by 9:30p-10p. She wakes up around 7-7:30a, feeds for 10 minutes and then goes back I bed until 9:30-10a. Once she's up though, she might take three 25-35 minute naps throughout the day (if that) and she must be laying on you or she wakes right up when I lay her down!!

  • 6-7 hours but she is starting to regress at 10 weeks and do.4-5. No idea why.
  • He goes to bed about 930, wakes at 6 for a quick feed and diaper change then goes back to sleep for 3-4 more hours. He's been doing this for about 2-3 weeks now and is now sleeping in his own room. He actually started sleeping better when I moved him to his own room, I think my constant checking if he was still breathing caused him to stir too often.

  • My nine week old now sleeps better than my 3 year old. She has slept 7-6 the last two days, and my toddler is up by 5:30 at the latest and doesn't go to bed till 8.

DD started consistently going to sleep between 8:30-9:30 pm and will sleep until 8 or 8:30 am at around 7 months. (backing out of this post slowly...please don't shoot me lol).

The past 2 weeks she has been teething hard and cut one tooth, another on the way so she has been waking once or twice a night but just a little soothing for less than 5 minutes and she usually goes back to sleep. I really can't believe what an easy baby she is....my older DS on the other hand still wakes every so often at 3 years old and it was a very rare occasion to get 6-7 hours straight before he was like 18 months.

EDITED ****Grrr, just realized this post is super old but it was showing at the top of my  feed!
  • I don't know how you ladies can handle such short sleep stretches! I got lucky, first 6 months it was 6-7 hours and after that it was 10-11 hours.

I just realized this was super old too- sorry for bringing this back to life- how did this end up back at the top of my feed?

I was super confused- like how can everyone function on 3-4 hour stretches!!!!!
  • geesh, that explains a lot. I thought it seemed really weird that someone said their baby was 2 months!
