Trying to Get Pregnant

Pineapple Core

I've seen it mentioned on here over and over that several of you have done pineapple core after ovulation.  I'm curious and have been googling all morning but haven't found any reputable (read: not a blog/forum full of anecdotes) information...I'm legit on page 9 of my google search, so it's not for a lack of trying.  Can anyone provide me with any actual medical information about this?

I'll take all the opinions, too, but I'd like to read maybe a medical journal or something...

  • I don't think there is any true "medical" research done that says this works.

Personally I did try it one month, and didn't get pregnant. The next 2 cycles I didn't do it and I got pregnant both times. I'm not sold on it but it can't hurt.
    Fucking bump!!!!

Thanks, I will try this right now.

@Pintobean39 I was starting to think maybe there wasn't any research on it either and was wondering where all this came from...

I think it can't hurt - even if it doesn't help with implantation, at least it boosts your intake of fruit, which is not a bad thing!

  • This is how I feel about shiz like this. I think if it were a sure-fire way to ensure implantation, doctors would be prescribing it all over the place or at the very least, there'd be clinical trials and studies all of the place for it. Even if it were a pretty good way to help implantation, stores would sell the extract/powder/whatev of the stuff at 40 bucks a bottle and people'd buy it like crazies.

I'd say as long as it doesn't hurt you and it gives you a positive psychological response (that you're doing something) then hey, go for it.
This is what I was hoping to be led to, but I'm now of the impression that there really isn't anything like that.  From what I've been reading though apparently it's kind of like a natural form of baby tylenol.

Thanks for all the input guys!
  • They also say pineapple helps to get the baby out. That's a load of crap so I'm guessing the core to get them in is less than scientific as well. Good idea, not so great in practice.

  • Also, make sure it's only the core because apparently, the flesh of the pineapple can offset what the core does.

Really? I thought I had read that you can eat 1/5 of the pineapple a day, core and flesh?

I could totally be wrong - I hope not though, because I am on day 4 of the pineapple and I have been using the flesh with core in my smoothie :-/

And btw... Many people have allergic reaction to pinapple core. Even if you aren't allergic to the rest. So if your tounge feels itchy... :)
Did not know this! Oy, that's the last thing you would need...

I think @CLECyclist hit the nail on the head in regard to the psychological benefit. I think I'd have to blend it up but props to the ladies who can stomach it unblended.

DX (me): Inborn error of metabolism - protein restriction, metabolic formula & weekly blood tests
DNA Results (7/1): DH is NOT a carrier for my genetic disorder!
7/3: Metabolic clinic gave the green light to TTC - holy crap!

  • Ladies, I will be conducting a bourbon "clinical" trial that will involve mixing bourbon with coke, bourbon over ice, and bourbon in various food items such as bread pudding, caramel sauces, and also just bourbon.

    Bourbon.
I would like to participate in this trial, so long as all goods are made by you.  Girl, seriously.  The things you make always look completely delicious.   I request some form of cupcake to be included in the trial.  :)
Wait.  Am I missing photos of delicious looking food by CLE? Are these being posted in a thread I never open somewhere?  I like food porn.
  • Where can I apply to be a part of the Bourbon and Chocolate trials?

Will the results be skewed if I do these trials at the same time?

NTNP starting 9-12, Actively TTC since 9-13
    My DX- Hypothyroidism.  Prescribed Synthroid
DH's DX- Severe MFI- first SA results: 1.3 mill (1.2 mill motile), 21.6% motility, 2% morphology
Blood test revealed low testosterone so DH was prescribed Clomid.  Repeat blood test and SA in November.

  • Also, don't worry guys.  I'm willing to take the bullet for everyone here and will try the chocolate covered pineapple approach.
  • These were made with bourbon and chocolate. Acceptable?

Yes.  Two of those per day after ovulation will help implantation, right?

I mean, if we write it down then it's science soooo....

For something to be true it has to be repeated three times. I believe bourbon, chocolate, wine and cupcakes will certainly help implantation (after all, who wouldn't love to hang around a good party?) And will be participating in the trial as well
