Holy crap. Zoe got so much stuff. Our families spoiled her. Our living room was a disaster. Still partially is. And we had so much leftover food. We bought like $200 worth and then MIL brought subs and didnt tell us she bought them til we fot there. She apparantly told DH we didnt call and she thought we would forget. Ummm its our daughters birthday. We did give some leftovers to our disabled neighbor. He was so gracious.

But other than the insane amount of food and a somewhat controling MIL it was a lot of fun. And im dead tired.

Also Zoe fell asleep mid opening presents. It was quite hilarious. We had to wake her for cake but I think she was happy we woke her. Haha

The first birthday party was a success. I still can't believe it's been a year. We had it at a local park with a splash pad. It was overcast and cooler than I was hoping for, but the kids had fun and it was fun watching them. And the smash cake was a success.

I'm cleaning. Boo. I cleaned for 5 hours yesterday while chasing A around and I have been cleaning for 2 already today. Dh gets to sit on the floor and play with A. Realtors are coming at noon and I still have so much to do! Where did all this crap come from?!?! Ok, my 5 min break is over....back to cleaning.

Yesterday DH and I spent the day getting yard work done. DD's party is next Sunday and we have 50 people coming. I am so stressed about making the house look nice. Today we have to wash the back deck and railings, the front steps and railings, and the front porch, pull weeds from the back, and a bunch of inside chores. Most of our bushes died over the winter so DH pulled them and put fresh mulch so we currently have 2 bushes. We are hoping to have time to go buy and plant new ones today, but I am not sure if we will. Oh well, I guess nothing is better then the dead ones. We just had the craziest, busiest spring and are behind. I also lose most of Saturday to prep for the party, because it is my good friend's son's birthday. I missed last year because I was in the hospital after having DD. Sorry to ramble and vent. DH has no sense of urgency and I am in panic mode right now! Oh and I feel terrible. When DS turned one, I had all his gifts a month before. DD really does not need anything because we have SO many toys here, but she loves DS's pottery barn kids chair. I finally ordered her one last night and of course it will not arrive until next Monday. I know she is not going to notice, but I feel bad knowing she will not have her gift on Friday morning, like DS had on his birthday. I did go crazy on her party though so that makes me feel better.

Lucas had his first taste of ice cream at the garlic festival - honeyed whiskey garlic ice cream with an orange habanero chocolate center, dipped in chocolate ganache and topped with bacon pralines. He was really mad when I got to the habanero center and wouldn't let him have anymore tastes!

And then he discovered electromagnetism at the Magic House!

Good morning ladies! Our landlord will be here at 9am for us to sign the lease for another year. So much to do before then but I doubt much will get done. I'm thinking of making pancakes soon.

We went to a solstice party at my cousins last night. I wasn't sure how Alex wouldd be since we were going to be there past his bedtime. He was awesome. Never cried or fussed. Just played and ate. Apparently he got over his aversion to the texture of watermelon and ate it non stop.
We had such a good time. Hopefully this is the kick we need to start doing more. I think I am going to start pushing to go to a drive in movie soon!

Bday party was a success. The twins even napped for the 2.5 hours leading up to the party so I got everything totally ready! Now it's time to sort through this mound of toys. Looks like everyone has had a fun weekend- loving all the pics!

I am being held prisoner by the cutest little nap warden ever! Yesterday we had a great time at someone's bday!!!! Today we are packing the house and running a few errands.

The builder for the new house has been SUPER shitty about responding to requests so we get to hunt them down today.

Finally, through some "investigative work", I found brothers baby mamas registry. She has 177 items on there! Filled with character stuff (all Disney crap) and nothing practical. Doesn't make my brother's shiftiness okay, but she seems unprepared for this baby. Ugh, I hate this situation.

DH is coming home today--I am so glad, we've missed him

we are gearing up for a fun week--our 9 year anniversary is Tuesday and my mom is coming to watch the boys so we can go to dinner. Friday is my birthday and we're going to do dinner and drinks with friends

I'm going to take a "mental health day" (aka call in sick) one day this week and get a massage and pedi as my gift to myself!

DH got up with LO this morning and changed her diaper, then brought her to me in bed so I could feed her there and she wouldn't. She looked up at me like "whaaaat is thissss?" So I got up and took her into the nursery with her boppy and she ate fine. Little stinker.

ETA: No, autocorrect, "boppy" is a word. I didn't mean "hoppy," thank you very much.

Husband, V and I are going cherry picking at the farm today where we have our CSA and a quick babies r us trip. He is in the camera shop now while we wait in car.
V wouldn't go down for his morning nap and we got out of the house two hours later than I wanted to...ugh.

Tell me if this is selfish of me.

For my birthday, I want to stay at a nice hotel in Pasadena by myself.

I want to get a massage, go to bed at 9 pm, sleep in past 5:15 am, and sit by the pool drinking a mimosa in the morning.

Eta: this isn't going to happen, but damn. These weaning hormones/possible thyroid hormones acting up again are making me so effing tired. And dh just read this book about being healthy and positive, so he's telling me to "stay positive," which really just annoys me because science.

Evenflo Tribute. I finally figured it out. There was some plastic piece I had to cut. Nothing said to cut it but it was only logical because otherwise there was 6" of slack. You?

Britax boulevard...I had no patience with it and husband did it.
