Can we do another weight gain check in?

Re: Can we do another weight gain check in?

  • I am 25 weeks today and up about 10 lbs. For what it is worth, my Dr. Weighed me at my 12 week check up and hasn't weighed me since. I only know how much I have gained by stepping on the scale at home about once a week. I have definitely gained faster the last few weeks though!

  • I'm up 27 lbs which is a bit scary and I don't really feel like I overeat that much but apparently I do. I gained 36 lbs with DS and after he was born I lost 49 lbs so I'm hoping that even if I don't lose any extra weight this time around, that I can at least go back to my pre-pregnancy weight. Last time I also only gained 10 lbs during the last 15 weeks so if I have a repeat of that, I would be very satisified... I'm 24 weeks currently.

I do worry but I eat when I'm hungry, I try to eat healthy, and my ob is not worried, so I try not to think about it too much.

  • Up 16 lbs, which I'm proud that it's not more. Growing a baby is tough, weight gain no matter the number is just part of the game.
    EDD: 10/5 Team Green
  • 23 weeks 5 days I am up 12.5 pounds.
  • 22 weeks and up 20 pounds. This last week I have been exhausted and eating terribly, so I gained like 5 in the last week. Oh well. FTM here with nothing to compare it to. I was 150 pre-pregnancy after a 100-pound weight loss that I had kept off for 5 years. Planning to get there again after pregnancy, but I'm not stressing it now.
  • 22 weeks I have gained 6lbs.

  • Just shy of 23 weeks and I am still down a pound from pre conception. Only reason this is ok is because I already had the extra fat stores my body needed for a baby before I got pregnant (ie I am plus size). Every appointment I discuss my weight with my doctor and he is incredibly pleased with me.

  • Depends what number I start with ha. About 10 pounds going from first appointment weigh in. I wasn't up at all until 19 weeks so I've gained it all in the past month.
  • Just weighed myself this morning- up 21 pounds at 23.5 weeks. I actually don't understand where the weight has gone, my face/arms/legs are really not much bigger, just belly and boobs! Oh well, I am very healthy and exercise, all I can do!

  • I only know my weight from doctor visits. I don't weigh myself at home. At my last appointment at 20w6d I was up 18 lbs. from my 7w appointment. I felt like it was high but my midwife wasn't concerned at all when I asked.

  • At my last doctor's visit I was up 2 pounds from my first weigh in.  I did lose about 5 during first tri, so I have gained 7 back.  I'm thinking I'll catch up here soon as my appetite has been increasing.

  • I'm 25 weeks up about 9 or 10 pounds. Just pushed the 199 mark on the scale
  • I'm currently up 10 lbs. at 21 weeks. I'm pretty sure I gained a few lbs. while TTC on top of that (can you say "emotional eater"?) so if say I'm about 15 lbs. above my average weight.
Me too exactly! I'm +15 from before TTC included.

  • I'm up 15 lbs at 22 weeks.

I am tracking about 12 lbs below where I was with my last pregnancy, which I am really happy with. I gained too much last time (50 lbs), and those last 10 were a bear to lose (it look 6 months to lose that last 10).

  • At 21 weeks I weighed in at up 13 lbs...the month previous I was at 14. I've had bad nausea though, so guess it wasn't too worrying for them. I had some extra fluff beforehand, too. Doc said 25-30 lbs for the whole pregnancy was acceptable. I guess that means I'm on track?

  • At 25 weeks and up 22.5 lbs since start of pregnancy. Not happy about that as was hoping to stay at 25-30 lbs total gain, but unless I slow down significantly - 40 lbs or more here I come. A lot has to do with that I had zero morning sickness but was starving all the time in my 1st trimester so put on a whopping 11-12 lbs in the 1st 12 weeks. My OB/GYN is not concerned and says all women gain differently and that from what she knows of my eating and exercise I'm doing everything right. She said she has patients not gaining much but less healthy than I am. So I'm trying to just let it go. Difficult because now I feel guilty if I have dessert at all or that extra glass of Juice - but my body wants those things...

Almost 26 weeks, I've gained about 19 pounds. I was hoping to only gain 25, but looks like that's not realistic. I was in the healthy BMI pre pregnancy, but closer to the high end, so that's why I was hoping for 25. Now I'm hoping to stay under 35. I'm a FTM, but I've read and heard that 2nd tri usually has the biggest weight gain, so I'm hopeful that I will stay under 35 pounds. But as long as my Dr. is happy and baby is healthy, I'm not going to worry too much! Edit: spelling.

  • At 22 weeks I was only up 10lbs, but at 26, I'd put on and additional 12! Crazy because I didn't feel like I got huge all of a sudden. Doc said I may have just gone through a growth spurt (thank god no stretch marks....yet) but that at my next appt. if I'm still gaining 3lbs a week, they'll need to do some testing.
  • I am 24 weeks and have gained about 20 pounds. I gained quickly first trimester and have kind of "leveled out" my last two appointments. I'm also eating a lot less than first trimester :)
  • 20w+4 and I lost more weight. Dietician wants me to either steady out or even start to gain. How do I do that if I want to stay off of insulin and still have good blood sugar numbers?

It isn't about what you eat but your body's reaction. By that I mean two people can eat the same meal and a non GD will get a good number, we don't. Insulin is far safer than baby not getting enough carbs because they still need them. Your body produces insulin to start. If you are eating your recommended amount and still need a medication than you are better off for baby to do that than low carb it and lose weight.

  • I'm up 17 lbs at 25 weeks.. I'm a FTM so I hope it's not too bad.. My OB hasn't said anything but I've gained 5 lbs since last 4 week appt.
  • First pregnancy 24 weeks and 3 days gained a total of 18 pounds so far. All my weight is going straight to my belly no where else. I was hoping my butt would get bigger but it's not. :-) oh well.
  • 12 pounds so far. I gained under 20 with my boys, and seem to be on th same track assuming I level off at the end again. I feel huge though!

  • y'all make me feel like a fat ass.  I think all my weight is in my boobs.....major fail since I had a breast reduction many many years ago and may not even be able to breastfeed.

I am 23.1wk and am up about 15lbs, now tipping the scale at 149-150, which is the heaviest I've ever been....all for my lil lady!  Everyone carries weight differently and has different lifestyles.  I'm trying to maintain my workouts as much as possible and feel great, so no complaints except some back pain.  2nd trimester "bliss" and all that jazz....I am sure I will feel like a house come August.

time to go inhale some breakfast ;-)

  • I'm 25 weeks 2 days and up 20 lbs. I'm a FTM so nothing to compare to. I wish I wasn't up so high but I'm walking or cycling 5 days a week as well as eating healthy so what are ya gonna do? Doc hasn't said anything about weight either so I guess that's good? Crazy to see your weight creep up like that!
  • I'm up 15 lbs at 24w5 after losing 3 lbs at the beginning due to morning sickness.
  • 20 lbs at 26 weeks.  Went to the Dr. yesterday and could have died.  I gained 7lbs in the last 4-5 weeks.  ( I lost 160lbs before getting pregnant) I am having a really hard time with the weight gain.  Its my own fault this I know....my bad eating in addition to just being pregnant.

  • Just had another appt yesterday. Up 15 lbs at 23 weeks.
  • I am 23 weeks today and up 1 pound. I lost about 7 in the first two months from being so nauseous. I have gained about a pound a week for the last three weeks or so. This is my 2nd baby and I was 190 to start :(. With my first I was 174 and ended at 190. Dr hasn't seemed worried, from the beginning said as long as I gained at least 10 pounds there were no worries.
