FTM here with a 6 week old and I'm having a really difficult time adjusting to my new life. The days just seem so very long. LO does not usually nap well so I feel like I'm holding/rocking/walking/feeding/playmat/swing all day but it drags so badly. She only stays in her swing for about 10 mins max before she cries so it's very short lived.
I'm EBF and don't feel comfortable nursing in public at all so when I do go out it's only for about an hour.
I know I should just get over the BF in public thing but I just can't.
I just feel sort of trapped by this new life. Wondering what you ladies do to make your day go by. There is only so much tv I can watch.
Re: The days seem so long!
I also baby wear almost all day. She naps and then I go for a walk, or walk around the house and catch up on phone calls. I also have made a big list of things I can do while baby wearing. Here are some list examples: create DS1's baby book, write thank yous, pay bills, clean out purse, update address book, clean house (I usually do a whole house pick up everyday including laundry/dishwasher/wipe counters/make beds. and then have a list of other cleaning to do like go through closets, organizing xyz, all that crap I never have time for). So I just power through my list and add items to it as I think of things to do.
I also got very bored until I started the list. Part of me gets annoyed I have to wear her the whole day (she won't nap on her own usually) to get stuff done, but I have come to terms with it:) now the days go by much faster and I am feeling super productive!! Plus I feel like I get some awesome exercise.
Lastly I went through my calendar for the next few months for birthdays, anniversaries, etc and went shopping for cards and gifts now so it's done when I go back to work and they are already filled out and wrapped for later (all done while baby wearing!)
I do get out and NIP which helps too, hopefully you can get comfy with it, or just bring your boppy and nurse in the car between stores...I do that a lot on days I have a lot of errands!
