Fireworks

With Fourth of July approaching, is anyone planning to take LO to a fireworks show? We have a camp on a lake and the whole lake does fireworks on the 3rd. Was planning to just head home before they really got started because I thought it might bother/scare LO... But maybe not if I'm wearing him. Has anyone already taken LO to fireworks? How did it go? Any advice? Thanks!

I probably will not simply because fireworks are not til 9:30 and DD tends to hit full melt down mode if she's not in bed by 8:30 at the very latest.

DD is going to fireworks on the 4th and an air show on the 5th. We did get baby banz hearing protection for her though.

When DS was a baby he would sleep through them, it was more around 1-2 years that he was petrified of them.

If we go I will probably sit in the car with DD. We also might park on a dirt road on the outskirts of town so we can see the fireworks but they won't be so loud.

DD1 who was a May baby slept through the fireworks in Santa Barbara. It was really NBD.

I actually asked my pediatrician if LO could be around fireworks, and she said it should be fine as long as we weren't too close to where they were setting the fireworks off.

DS saw some at a baseball game a few weeks ago for the first time. He loved them! I would just make sure you are not too close so they aren't too loud. Had to share this picture of DS watching them!

@purespark‌ He actually did great! We have taken him to 4 games already and he will go with us tonight as well. CWS and living in Omaha means lots of baseball. Make sure you have a good hat for LO to keep him out of the sun. I wore DS some of the time so he could nap. He loves music so the loud noises weren't bad for him. We also took a break from the game about 1/2 through by walking around a bit. Hope you have fun!!
