Maybe she toured in the slower months and wasn't thinking to ask about the ratios in the busier times, ffs. This pile on is dumb. As a customer who is paying a premium for a service she is well within her right to speak to a director because she is concerned about child safety. Of course as a business they can tell her to fuck off and do what they want. I'm failing to see how she's out of line for inquiring. Obviously there's a lot of people nitpicking here since they don't have hav to pick on anymore.
She did inquire and they told her, sorry only one worker on today.  So she left, she came on here looking to report them to the state.

They didn't turn her away, she felt it was unsafe (rightfully so) but she had a choice to leave him if she wanted.

Even if they were following state guidelines and there were 3 workers there, she would have still been tuned away that day. They already were at 25 kids according to her.  So she still would not have been able to use the service.

IMO, it is like all the other amenities that come with a membership.  If all the treadmills are being used, you can wait, come back at a different time or leave.

Certainly you can see the difference between a childcare room being understaffed on a single day vs a place being chronically understaffed. I wouldn't assume the person who works the desk necessarily knows the staffing policy of the childcare center. She also didn't say she was reporting it to the state--she asked for the legalities. You could bring it to someone's attention and attempt to resolve the situation before getting the authorities involved.

  • I don't pay $20/month. I said I would save $20/month going somewhere else.

No. Nowhere else offers child care. Someone suggested going somewhere else and spending the difference paying baby-sitter. I said $20/month would hardly pay a sitter for an hour a day per month.

  • There should be a limit. Heck that could also be a fire hazard.
