@persephonerose, they had the Keyfit Magic when we had DS1 but the only benefit I remember is the footie/boot cover. I would try and see it in person in a store and play with the sunshade on both models to see if the Magic really has a better sunshade. The sunshade was the feature on the Keyfit I liked the least - it was just awkward to pull up and never stayed put.
A friend of mine had the Peg Perego and while I don't think that carseat is worth the price, her sun shade worked fabulously and I was a little jealous. Still wouldn't spend the cash on that seat though - just not worth it considering the short time period they are in the car seat.
Yeah they did not have the magic version when we bought ours for DS1, so I am also curious about the new sunshade. I never had much of an issue with ours but I dont think I used it very much, I always sat in the back (since I dont drive) and had a A&A blanket over the car seat. I noticed on the Nextfit they have also made a huge improvement, the cover can now be zipped off to wash! I was like dang it why could you have not done that sooner!
We have the graco 30, I switch out of the infant car seat quickly though. With my daughter we used it from feb to May with this one oct to prob March. We will move to the combi coccoro and then to a diono radian. If I did have babies when it was cold I would have just used the combi. I own a daycare center and see numerous seats, I love the gracos and the chiccos. My experience with the britax infant seats is that the straps twist so easily and I find that they are hot seats. Meaning sweaty babies. I have a vista and considered the Mesa for this baby, but with the price tag and the fact that I have a seat and 4 bases we will stick to what we have.

@persephonerose, we had to replace my Nextfit because of an accident and the insurance said it would cover the price of the new seat so I bought the new Nextfit zip. It is awesome! The straps were easy to tighten from the beginning and the strap to pull has a handle so it's easier to grip it to pull. If you ever need to replace one of your Nextfits, I would recommend the new one.
I also forgot to add in my original post that the sunshade would be the only reason I would buy the Chicco Magic. You live in Texas right? So do I and I don't think the winters get cold enough to warrant the boot cover and you can always use a blanket anyway.

Yes we are in Austin and we only ever used a blanket so I don't feel like the boot is enough of a bonus. But Im curious to see how the new sunshade works and if its worth the extra 40.00 or so.
