I just started my current job last November (2013). I knew we were hoping to TTC in the not too far future but my job doesn't offer maternity leave so I signed up for Aflac. I enrolled in Dec 2013 with an effective date of 1/1/14. I knew up front that they won't pay benefits for any birth that is within the first 10 months of the start date, but wasn't planning to TTC until July 2014 so I figured I was fine.
To make a long story short, I ovulated a week early this Feb and am expecting a lot sooner than I thought I would be. They have moved up my due date a few times and it is currently 10/31/14. I just spoke with my Aflac rep who said that as long as I deliver after midnight on 11/1/14 they will pay but if it's even 11:59 on 10/31, they won't pay anything. We are a single income household (mine) so if I don't get get my benefits I'll have to return to work pretty much immediately. My first was a c-section due to breech presentation. We are hoping for a VBAC this time around but now I will definitely have to VBAC since a c-section would be scheduled for before my due date. I'm starting to panic, though, about going into early labor.
For those of you who did a VBAC, when did you go into labor? Did any of you go into labor before your due date? Also, since my first was breech (she was head down until the day before my due date; then she flipped) I'm worried that this one will be, too (she was in breech position as of last Friday), I'm wondering if any of you had a breech baby that you either successfully flipped & VBAC'd or who flipped on their own and you VBAC'd?
Thanks in advance for your input!
Re: When did you go into labor?
My VBAC attempt I went into labor at 40wk3d! So very different both times!
