Tell me about teething....

What symptoms/signs did your DC have before the teeth came through?  I so thought we were going to have teeth a long time ago and we still don't.  DS has been soooo abnormally fussy the past two nights, the only way I can keep him sort of content is to have him in the front carrier and walk around the house.  However, he is fine during the day at day care.  I "think" I see the teeth on the bottom, because there are two white spots on the gums; however yesterday when I looked it is all mushy looking (which I think someone else said was a sign of teething).  DS has also been waking up every 1-2 hours at night (before he has some 3-3.5 hours stretches in there) and sometimes even gets up every 1/2 hour.  Any thoughts or advice??  I have tried teething tablets with no luck and even used the oral gel last night, which didn't seem to help either.  Poor DS is miserable!

  • IT SUCKS!!!!!!!!

Paige was actually drooly at 2 months.  I thought she was going to get her teeth early.  She didn't get her first two until 5 months old.  She then did not get anymore until 11 MONTHS!!!!!!!!! Then she got all 6 at once.  She was actually pretty good.  IT IS THE MOLARS THAT ARE KILLERS!  We use motrin.  I dont' know when you can start using that (how old they have to be) but that is the only thing that works for Paige!  GL!

  • We go to the doctor on Friday, I will ask about the motrin or any other pain relievers.  It just sucks that I don't know if it is really teething or if it is something else.  I swear this is teething, but I also said that 3 months ago.  Somedays I think it wouldn't be so bad if babies were already born with their teeth.....just kidding....but on those really, really bad days it sounds better!!

  • ditto on the it sucks part. Dd is currently working on three molars, ick!

motrin, or tylenol (we haven't noticed a difference but some people swear by motrin) and lots of love. Cold foods also seem to help.
