Trying to Get Pregnant

s/o lady gardens

Yesterdays 2ww GTKY reminded me, has anyone used an at home wax kit/strips?  I leave for a beach vacation on Saturday and wanted to clean up before I go, but don't have time to get to a waxer, and I'd rather not be shaving all week.  Thoughts?

  • No, sorry, but to be honest, I haven't heard anything positive about them.

  • I've used pre-made strips--you warm them between your hands and peel them apart to reveal two sticky pieces of hell. I could never really "shape" anything, but it'll do the trick for the bikini line. Use your opposite hand to keep the skin taut, don't think about it, and rip quickly.

  • I only allow professionals to wax my lady bits.  Some things are worth the money ;)
  • I tried a kit a few years ago and it didn't work at all.  I found that the wax just matted the hair down but didn't remove it (both the premade strips and the hot wax kits).

  • I usually use Nair for my bikini line and it is much less painful for me!

I used this same kind once also. They didn't work very well for me, so I just went back to my normal shave routine.

  • I've used an at home waxing kit for my underarms, and had DH apply the wax and strips.  But for the bikini area I'd much prefer a professional take care of it.

  • Do not, I repeat do NOT try the home kits on your cooch.

All you'll get is a yell, and wax left on your pristinely undisturbed pubes. Then you spend like 20 minutes muttering curses while you scrub said wax off.

  •  The only experience I have with them was at summer camp when I was abot 14. Two of my friends decided to give them a whirl. I'll never forget the overwhelming stench and the shrieks of pain.

But who knows, they were probably using them incorrectly.

The stench...? I'm afraid to ask.

Ugh I tried the at-home wax and it was a major catastrophe. Now I know why they charge the big bucks to get it professionally done. Totally worth it IMO.

  • I read "gardens" as "gardeners" and came here all excited to talk about my monster zucchini plants.  (Seriously, they're huge!)  Anyways...

I absolutely refuse to wax. That shit hurts.  I do use the bikini line Nair, which is alright even though it smells like burning.  As a woman, I feel like I go through enough pain and hassle during my daily beauty routine... I refuse to subject my crotch to such cruelty.
