We won't be getting one unless we move in time. To make me feel better about it SO says we wouldn't use it anyway because knowing me the baby will be with me 24/7. So we'll be getting a crib and stuff to go in our room. And yes, he's right, I'd either be sleep in the nursery with LO or next to my bed.
@Excitedpreggo12 I spy with my pretty little eyes... A web page that could help you with co-sleeping. I did it for a while and loved it.
***********
I will definitely check it out, I've heard too many pros and cons with cosleeping and I'm overwhelmed!! Thank you.
Co-sleeping is wonderful. You're body will naturally wake up and you won't roll over your baby. The only time that happens is if the mom is impaired (drugs or alcohol) or has sleeping issues. As in such a heavy sleeper nothing can wake them. If N ever moved I was awake instantly.
This is not always true for everyone. Co-sleeping didn't work for us, but we had the Cosleeper by the bed and it was a great compromise. You will just have to try it and see what works for your family.
Obviously it's not for everyone :P that's why I put that extra little statement in there about heavy sleepers. If you're a heavy sleeper, even after the baby gets here, don't do it. It's unsafe. I was just trying to help excitedpreggo out.
We've started, but JUST started! We are having beadboard and crown molding installed in lady baby's room, so we've started getting quotes for that. We chose a paint color for the top half of the wall, a light pink. We've picked out the crib, dresser and glider, just waiting for A/S to place the order. (Irrationally Nervous for the A/S) As for bedding we decided to go simple, with the Harper collection from Pottery Barn in bright pink. No cartoons or themes for us, just classic pink on pink
I didn't see this before I posted my "I'm freaking the fuck out" thread...
But the nursery is technically started in that it is being built right now as I type. We have idea in our mind for what we're doing. We found out we are having a boy, and Ryan and I love the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (specifically Donatello), and I had told him months ago that we could do a TMNT nursery if it was a boy. So we're going to paint the walls a pale green, and get dark purple curtains. My BFF's boyfriend is an artist, so he said he would do a TMNT mural for us and did a sketch. I think I would rather have him paint it on canvas though so we can hang it, and take it down if/when Liam decides he isn't into the turtles, but still keep it since we will like it. We're nerds. We don't want to go overboard with the turtles, but we'll just stick with greens and purples and if we find some cute turtle stuff (mutant or not), we'll add that.
We are moving next month so no nursery starting until August. We also need to figure out how to build wall, or make a creative separation, because our loft space (that we're moving back to) is technically a two bedroom (in our documents, not sure how that works), but that second "bedroom" doesn't have a wall.
Its tough because I don't want to buy anything until we move, because it will be more stuff to move. But I figure 3+ months is plenty of time to get things ready, right?
We have no specific theme or colors in mind. We'll probably keep it pretty neutral (and decorate with art, rugs and bedding) since we plan to be there for a few years only, and then sell or rent it out.

It's plenty of time. I bet you could do it in a week if you had too.
I'm unsure what I want to do. We thought about doing a K-State "theme" (using the word theme lightly), but I really am in love with astronomy (I take my giant telescope out and stargaze). I think it would be neat to have a simple nursery with some stars, constellations, whatever mixed in. We know we are having a boy, but I don't think I want a nursery that screams boy.
