God my new birth club Dec14 sucks balls. They are soooooooo bitchy! I remember a bit of drama earlier on here, but seriously these ladies are so ridiculous. Like the "gender/sex" debate?!? God forbid you make that mistake because you will literally be crucified. No, literally. The most unpleasant thing is the the Bump made my default Dec14, even though I like coming to A13 first! I don't usually get bothered by online drama but these women are just plain MEAN.

I honestly believe that it is offensive to use the word retarded as well... and the original post pointing it out was random but polite enough. However, coming over here as some sort of snarky gang that throws around insults and instigating drama on another, unrelated post probably isn't the best or most effective platform for making a positive change.

You should probably know that the correct thing to say is "children and adults who are developmentally disabled". People first language.

I would hope that you at least change this order of words to be more sensitive towards your patients.

I don't think anyone defended the use of that word. It was clearly thoughtless. But I don't think it was malicious. She has never been a malicious person. Would a clear and succinct apology have been a better response? Probably. I took her post about being more careful about word choice as a tacit apology though.
