Night light with cord or portable

We don't have any exposed outlets in DD's bedroom, so we need a light that either has a cord or is portable/battery operated.

Any suggestions? The Boon is cool, but for $60 not an option.

Re: Night light with cord or portable

  • I just ordered one from Land of Nod - shaped like a gummi bear. It was $29.  I don't have it yet though so i can't speak to how great it is. Reviews are good though.

Why not get an outlet cover that has sliders to cover when nothing is plugged in?

Sorry, I meant that no outlets were accessible- there are furniture in front of all of them.

  • We got a great one from Target for about $10-15....it's a little blue bird (but they have other animals/colors) and it's an LED that plugs into the wall and charges...you can leave it plugged in all the time, which we do, but if the power goes out or you unplug it, the charge lasts quite awhile.

I think we found it in the aisle where they have the toddler bedding and accessories.

  • ikea has one called a spooka, I think. It is less than 10 bucks. you can plug it into a charger type plug and the charge will last through the night. we've had ours for 3 years.

  • My sister gave my kids the Gummy Bear ones (she got them from Uncommon Goods) for Christmas. We haven't used them yet but they look cute. They are battery operated but also come with a USB plug for charging so no outlet is necessary.

  • Just wondering if the Spoka really made it all night for you. It sounds like just what we need, but the Ikea website says it only stays on 4-5 hours.  Look forward to hearing back. Thanks!
