Re: Any Names Yet?

  • I have lists upon lists but nothing definitive. :-/ the DH refuses to discuss until we know the sex so I'm basically left to do all the brainstorming.

  • For a girl were thinking Kinsley. And for a boy Jack. Still not 100% tho. We'll see!
  • Boy will be DH switch Nathan Ryan
    Girl will be Emillia Grace

DH loves Abigal with a middle name of Mae, Elizabeth, or Virginia, but I think all of those sound too country, and I'm not sold on Abigail anyway. I would maybe be ok with Abigail Virginia with a nn of Ava because 3 of our grandmothers are Virginia. I like Charlotte or Kate, but DH doesn't.

We don't know for a boy. Our dads are both Richard, but I don't love the name.

We'll talk about it more once we know the sex.
  • We have only decided on a girl name so far... Aria Jean (Jean was my grandmothers middle name)

For boys... I have no clue.  I think we've 99% decided we'll use Nathaniel as a middle name, but the first name is completely up in the air.  Some names thrown around have been Adam, Connor, maybe even Edward...but I don't think H is really sold on any of those.  The only one out of those three I am sure I like is Adam.

  • Duncan is 100% our boy name.  Current favorite girl name is Matilda nn Tilly, but that could change.

    DD is Elinor nn Nora.

  • I've had a girl name ready from my first pregnancy: Eloise Josephine (our grandmothers' names). I need some good boy ides just in case. We struggled the last time!
  • We have sort of talked about it, but have no clue really what we would name a boy or girl. It looks like a lot of people already have ideas and maybe I am behind the ball. It seems like such a big decision. Any one else out there?

DH won't really talk about it until we know the sex. He has said he likes Duncan for a boy though. Girl names we have tossed around are Chloe, Cadence, and Violet. I also really like Penelope.

  • Isabella Lynn for a girl... having trouble picking a boys name!
  • For a girl, it will probably be Margaret Katherine. Not sure for a boy.

  • So far i have Aaryn for a girl and Baxter NN bax for a boy. im 99% sure on them both Hubby is still 50-50. Not sure if we will do middle names. my 2 boys don't have one but me little girl does so we may give a girl a middle name and not a boy. Might just use DH's mums name as a middle name so it would be Aaryn Gale (yes she spells it that way)

  • If it's a girl, I want Callie Grace but I'm still getting DH on board. Other options are Lena, Ellis, Maggie (all with MN Grace after my grandma who passed away in November).

If it's a boy, I have no idea. DH wants Arthur (sorry, not happening). Maybe Bennett Patrick? Not so sure about boy names. My boys now are Dean (3 yrs) & Hudson (16 mos)

I think Bennett would go perfectly with Dean and Hudson. It's a much better fit than Arthur. Good luck getting H on board with Callie. If not, Lena is a beautiful name, too. <3

    We have overkill for names.

Girl list when I was pregnant with DD was:
    Amelia Grace (now taken)

    Vivian Edith (on deck haha)

Gloria Louise (falling out of love with that for SO MANY REASONS-- number one of which "Louise" is in honor of MiL's middle name since Grace, Edith, and Frederick Joseph are all family names on my side)

Boy list when I was pregnant with DD:
    Frederick Joseph (on deck haha)

Eli Gideon (long story here, mostly DH HATES our niece's name of "Maple," and our last name starts with "L," so he says then we can legitimately call our son "Eagle" because initials would be EGL)

You are definitely not behind the ball. We have so much time to decide!

  • We only had one girl name that we agreed on last time and we used it with DD: Caroline Rose.

Boy name: Gregory Dennis NN Rory
(Dads' names... I'm still trying to convince H to go with Thomas for the MN)

    Girl names I like:
    Corinne (H hates it)
    Cora (too close to Caroline)
    Lucy (too popular)

The MN will be from my maternal GM. Her name was Corinne Isabelle so either one.

It took us forever when I was pregnant with DD to come up with names DH would even discuss.  I actually went into a character list of personas I had written back when I was like 12 and thought I would somehow grow up and NOT be a starving artist writer.  haha.  That's mostly where Amelia Grace (DD) came from.  haha.  I think I was about 20 weeks (and a few days before my anatomy scan) before DH would even be like "I guess that's a possibility" for names.

    You'll get there.  :)

  • It was so easy when we were pregnant the first time!  We had names picked out for years.
    Girl:  Madelyn Elizabeth
Boy: William Caswell, called Case as a nn for Caswell.  Caswell was my grandfather's name.

So then Madelyn became crazy popular and we changed the girl name to Hadley Alise.  That's DD

Then we had DS and used William Caswell.

Now we're back at square one with a boy's name.  He loves Jack and Jake.  I'm not a fan but I don't love anything yet.

80% sure a girl will be Eileen Elizabeth although I'm not a huge fan of how it flows.  We'll see.  I heard Ellianna the other day and like it too but DH said it's a bit much.  He loves the nn Ellie though and I really like Elle.

  • we haven't really discussed it yet.  i brought it up and SO suggested we wait till the a/s and cut our work in half, and i agreed.  all i know is that if we have a girl, katherine/kathryn will probably be somewhere in the name.  SO's mom's name was kathleen, and she told me a few weeks before she passed that if either of her boys had been girls, she would have chosen "kathryn" as a middle name, so that's where that came from.  if it winds up as a first name though, i prefer the "katherine" spelling, although i can be flexible depending on what SO would prefer.  she'd probably be kit or kat for short (but NOT kitkat), since i'm not big on "kathy".

Amelia, William, Oscar and Elise are all family names- so we might go with one of those, but still undecided.

  • With our last boy my husband was hell-bent on Achilles. I refused. He still brings it up as an idea.
  • Pax.ton Doug.las for a boy. MIL was an only child and DH was incredibly close to his grandparents (they both passed before we started dating), it means a lot to both of us that their name live on even if only as a first name. Douglas is DH's 1st name. We aren't telling anyone until birth. I don't want to hear any commentary.

For a girl we have no idea. I really really like Eden Brielle or Anneliese. DH is probably waiting to get past 12 weeks to seriously consider anything. We already used our girl name when DD was born last year.
  • Girls name are going to be hard my hubby loves the name Cecily which I like but don't love! I really like the name Lucy and Amelia but he doesn't really like them! If its a boy the name will be Joseph Thomas.
  • I'm 90% sure if it's a girl it will be Cecelia Rosemary (FI didn't give any real input on that after I suggested it), and we are at a stalemate for boy names.

He got his "the third" with DS, so I feel like I should have more input on this one if it's a boy.

He wants Damion and I absolutely hate that name. My gut says it's gonna be a boy, so we have a lot of discussion ahead of us!

  • Girl: Rose Rae (DH's grandma's name is Rose, Rae is for my grandfather Raymond - my middle name is Rae as well)

For a boy, we aren't dead set on anything yet. He wants a junior, but I'm not digging that for the first son. Or really any kid. I feel like it puts pressure on them. But we like William, Robert, Christopher and Michael so far.

People who name their daughters Nora are the coolest people. Not that I'm biased, or anything. ;)

  • We had our names picked out but are reconsidering them.

    Girl -- Mackenzie nn Kenzie
Boy -- Samuel Aldean nn Dean (Aldean being a mix of our grandmothers names, which are too old fashioned for our preference)

Aldean will stick around for a boy, but I like Tobias, Elliot, and Fynn. DH already shot down Langston and Byron.

For a girl I'm digging Charlotte, Piper, Aubrey, Emma, and Eleanor but we don't really care for any of the nicknames for Eleanor.

We are keeping names a surprise until birth. I've seen a lot of people on the bump ask why people do this, but as a "planner" it would drive me crazy not to know gender... I want to keep some element of surprise to share with family and friends.

    Boy: Jack Alexander
Girl: either Elliotte Grace nn Ellie, or Lacey - no middle name yet. Suggestions welcome :)

I would like to go in with a couple of names just in case. I feel like some babies just fit or don't fit a name, if that makes any sense. I know that doesn't apply for all, but it did my niece. When she was born I knew instantly that she didn't fit the name they gave her. She still doesn't and it just seems like an odd pairing...

As of now we think Girl- Scarlett Marie and Boy- Korben James

But as others said we have plenty of time to change our mind. ;) Though I absolutly love Scarlett and DH loves Korben.

DS is Korben! Spelled this exact way. I didn't like it at first but it is a character in one of DH's favorite movies and insisted and now, the spelling "Corbin" is odd to me.

Totally! I've only run into a few grandmothers with that name lately, so it makes me feel like it's wonderfully old-fashioned (Love!).  Scratching my head on the middle name still.  Good thing we've got time!
