Cloth Diapering

Wish me luck! CD ON

Logan is in cloth tonight. S'bish fitted under a small bummis super brite. I quit CD at night due to MS and his regular morning poop. And I have just been lazy after that.

I (hopefully) had a brilliant idea of putting the inserts on the outside of the fitted so he doesn't poop on them. I also put two liners in. Cross your fingers for no leaks and no dunking crap! :)

GL! I had a poo in E's ON fitted this morning but luckily it was a plopper. Eww, that was really gross. Let us know how the inserts on the outside works.

I hope it went well for you!

  • Good luck! Hope you had a good night!
  • I actually prefer the inserts inside the fitted...if there's poop, I find it easier to just dunk the insert instead of the whole diaper. Does that make sense? Good luck!

E's doesn't just stay on the inserts though, so then I'm stick with poo on inserts and poo on the fitted, and have to clean both.

Ahh. Okay then I would try to put them outside too :)

  • I would say it was successful! He didn't leak, in fact, it had a bit of dryness in the way back still. A bit of poop got on the diaper, but not too bad! Yay!!!

I almost died of ammonia, though. I forgot how much ON diapers stink. Yuck. He's a good sleeper, so he's in them for 12 hours usually. It's normal, right? I soaked it in the toilet for a bit.

  • Yup! Totally normal for that pee stink to hit you when staking off the ON diaper. Yay for success! I actually just rinse M's in the sink and wring it out with my hands (when it's just pee)

Should I strip it? I bought it used. Bleached it. Only used it maybe 10 times, if that. I did just strip hard water build up out of my diapers, but I had been using them for almost a year. I didn't include this one in the Calgon strip.
