Thanks @aliletz, now I seriously want 3D images but don't want to do it because I'm team green. Damn.
@ichabody you should go for it! You can always look away from the screen until the tech tells you to look. We got an accidental shot of his balls right off the bat but I knew what I was looking at and already knew he was a boy, so I imagine they can easily avoid it if you have the willpower to turn your head and avert your eyes!
I am SO EXCITEDDDDDDDDD!!!!!! My BFF (of 27 years) is coming into town tonight, my baby shower is tomorrow, and I have some stupid cute 3D images of Alex from yesterday to share.. I don't think I've ever shared them here, even though I've already had three sessions now.
I'll spare you all the shot of his nuts. You're welcome.
edited because my post sounded like it was written by an ESL student. words, yo.
I'm not put off by the African American history at all! I guess I just like the idea of diversity more. I want my kids to know about all the sides to american who history you know? And you're right. I've noticed that it is fairly common in philadelphia to have schools/colleges/etc focus mainly on AA studies.
Perhaps they have nothing better to do that sit around and talk crap about their kids. I've been swimming since I was younger than 2 and I know for fact that water makes you tranquil and on top of that, gives you exercise. Tranquil 4 year olds + exercise equals = crankiness. Nothing wrong with those babies and I'm sad to hear their parents are reacting that way.
I'm a bit disgruntled there wasn't a TB PSA alerting everyone they'd have a cotton swab shoved up their ass to test for some B strand bacteria thingymahjiggie.
We seem to love to discuss the horrors of drinking Gatorade like sugar water, but no butt swab warning? I'm sitting here with a drape at my 36 week appointment and I'm relieved DH is missing this one. I don't think I could have had him watch the Dr pull the swab back out and drop in a specimen bag. I'm saving my overabundance of bodily fluids for the birth
For shame ladies.
Thank you for this. I wanted to know the doctor needed to go up in there or they just swiped the outside. You answered my question.
OK so I feel dumb. Had a moment. Logged in to TB and went to the BMB... Saw 4 "baby is here" threads and 83 updates to the birth announcement thread and thought "Holy crap! Am I the only one who is still pregnant?? ... Wait isn't it only June? WTH" That only lasted about 10 seconds and before I had the aha moment and knew I must be on the wrong "J14" ... It must be Friday--my mind is goooone......
So a chick at my husband's work admired the Nursery art I made for LittleDude and asked me if I'd mind making her one for her BabyGirl who is due about a week before I am.
Uhhhh.... HELL YES I WILL! I love that I'm having a boy and get to play with that, but it was SO MUCH fun dabbling in girly stuff! Her baby's name is Amelia and this is what I came up for her:
(total amateur btw, I'm new to this. Don't expect Martha freaking Stewart)
Her theme is pink/brown (obviously) and all of the pieces are either stretched canvas with handpainted over wooden frames or wood base, painted over with wooden butterflies and hand stenciled. I'm absurdly proud and I HAD to share with you chicks. I think I found what I want to fill up the next month with! ♥♥♥
So, um, my baby girl's name is Amelia and her nursery is pink and brown. Can you make me some art next? Love what you've done!
@dlsexton, hopefully this does not sound super creepy, but I just showed a picture of your baby to DH (to give him a rough idea of what LO looks like right now since I'm 37 weeks) and he was like "that is a really pretty baby!" I agree!

I stand corrected. Dr barely even touched the swab to the my pucker, there was no penetration. I didn't even know he had done it until he told me afterwards. I'm so glad I didn't become a human popsicle!
Got my eyebrows threaded today. One more step towards being ready for baby girl :P
I shaved the downstairs for the last time to celebrate 36 weeks (I got like three different flyers at the OB saying not to after 36 weeks due to risk of infection) but I did a terrible job and its making me itchy haha. Fail. Getting my eyebrows threaded and a pedicure next week so hopefully that goes better.
2. I'm making fish sticks and tater tots for dinner, because I can. It's my birthday on Tuesday so I'm making all my favorite childhood meals to celebrate. Tomorrow night is baked Mac n cheese with ham!
3. Babies are so cute, you guys. I've never held one, but I think I'm finally in a place where I'm more excited than terrified. This is after a customer today set her baby on my desk and I spent the whole transaction watching her coo and drool and gaze at me. Eee!!
I'm still waiting for today's u/s to find out if the fluid levels have improved. If they haven't, I'm having a c-section today. Fine, whatever needs to be done for baby. HOWEVER, because there is the possibility of surgery today, they aren't letting me eat anything. I'm freaking starving and becoming irritable pregnant lady over here waiting for something to happen. It doesn't help that they brought me "dinner" yesterday at 4:30. Who the hell eats dinner that early?
I have been washing and folding baby clothes/towels/blankets etc for about 4 days now. I swear I don't remember getting all of this at my shower. My baby things have been reproducing by mitosis while they've been piled around the house.
Okay. I officially feel like my body is falling apart. I can't walk a block without my right leg going out on me. I'm exhausted and mentally drained. Having crampy BH's and just want to lay in bed.
Just jumping on to say hi! Had my 9 year old cousin visiting for the week last week, now have the 11 year old visiting until next weekend along with her help in finishing getting the home baby clean! Plus I have a stupid summer cold. Been lurking but no time to get into the threads. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
I was thinking about you just this morning! Boo on your summer cold :-q but it sounds like you'll have a good helper this week. I hope you feel better quickly!
After looking and looking, I FINALLY found just the outfit I wanted for Spencer's coming-home, AND it was available in newborn and 0-3 months sizes, AND it was on sale for $5 each. It is a good day.
How is it possible that I'm 36w3d and still not a clue on a final name for my team green baby? The only thing I'm sure of is a boy first name but can't come up with a middle name and I'm all over the map on girl first and middle names.

My sister had her little girl on Friday and they weren't for sure on the name until she was born. Maybe your heart of hearts knows
Reading the "how did your water break thread...what is with all the L&D folks not believing women when they tell them their water broke? Kinda makes me aggravated....
Re: Random thread- for all things random.

I love the pics! He's adorable!!
my left ankle could support it's own thread at this point...ugh...
