    1. Operation Get-Fat is in motion. My goal this week is to eat every 2 hours all day long. I have lost weight between bedrest and my mouth infection, so have a ton of gaining to do.

    2. This afternoon we are going to the hospital. I am finally going to try the pizza there H. has been raving about.

    3. Am watching The Heat again this morning, this movie still cracks me up 3rd time around.

    4. Knock-wood, bleeding has stopped. I am so grateful for that.

    5. The pain after the cerclage procedure has really made me think about about epidurals vs med-free birth. I wasn't contracting, but I didn't handle it super well either. May have to do more research in that area....

    6. Our dog is loving the bed-rest thing. She is super content to have me home all day to cuddle with.

    7. We will be 20 weeks tomorrow! Half-baked!

    8. My cousin threw herself a surprise wedding on the weekend, the photos from it are adorable and apparently NO ONE knew it was coming. My grandma was pretty impressed with the whole thing, I am impressed with her for getting it done!

    9. The Rockies really like yogurt it seems, not as much as pineapple makes them freak out into a dance party, but still a reliable one.

    10. Loving seeing all the adorable babies in the PIP Thursday thread these days :)

  • 1. Let's see how long it takes me to complete 10 things, both girls are awake and playing quietly right now.  Fingers crossed it lasts more than 2 minutes.

    2. I am 28 weeks, 7 months pregnant today!  Craziness!

3, We had our baby shower this weekend and it was a great time.  We combined family and close friends.  It was interesting that we had friends there from all parts of our life.  My best friend from high school came and it made my sister and mom cry because they know our struggle over the last few years.  It was a big deal for her to be there and a sweet moment for the two of us because I threw her shower 10 years ago for her first child.

    4. The only disappointment I have about our shower is that the pictures aren't that great.  I meant to bring our camera and forgot to charge it ahead of time.  So people used their cell phones and most of the pictures people have crazy eyes or aren't looking at the camera, ect.  It just kind of stinks.

    5.  I am really worried about our dog.  He is 6 years old and very friendly and easy going.  For the last two months he has started acting strange.  He must be under my feet, if he isn't near me then he paces and pants non stop.  Recently when we let him outside he won't come back in.  We have to go and drag him inside.  Last night my wife tried to do that and he growled at her.  He has never shown aggression before and it worries me.  I don't feel like the vet is going to do much besides want to run a bunch of tests and we don't have that extra money just laying around right now.  I am not sure what to do :-(

    6. I am so glad that our house is on the mend and everyone isn't sick anymore.  We all had really bad colds last week, it was miserable.

    7. My mom and sister picked up M on Saturday morning and kept her for the day.  It was strange only having one child and she took really good naps all day.  So we got to have some down time, which was much needed!  My wife and I realized that we will probably never know what it's like to just have one child at a time, and I think that is okay with us.

    8. My wife and I had decided to celebrate me on Mother's Day and her on Father's Day, so we each get our 'own' day to be honored and made to feel special.  Well Father's Day is this weekend and it has snuck up on me and I have no clue what to do for my wife!

    9. After getting a bad sun burn last week I am peeling now and it is itchy, it is so annoying!!!

    10. I thought I would share a picture of my sister and I at my shower this weekend.  She is 38 weeks pregnant and I am 28 weeks.

  • 1. Holy cow we are really pregnant. I'm still in shock! Can't wait to find out how many we have. A little scared about that.
    2. Sarah had agreed to let me do the nursery and it be a surprise for her at Christmas. :) (we stole that idea from some of you), at first she was very against this as she is rather
Opinionated about EVERYTHiNG, but she said, "I think it's a great idea since I'm the one going through the experience you wanted to have." This made me cry because it was the first time I felt like she really sympathized with me being the non-bio mom.
    3. I of course have a big mouth and couldn't help but tell my sister and brother in law. They have stuck out the whole ttc journey with us and were so excited.
    4. This weekend I am going to Myrtle Beach with both of my sisters and my mom. I will share the news with them then. My sister K is going to pretend she doesn't know. We aren't sure how my mom is going to react. She knew we were trying but DOESNT talk about it. My sisters will be excited so she won't want to look bad in front of them! Lol. My plan is to attach pacifiers to a notecard that reads ( in kid like writing), "Dear Grammy, please keep this somewhere safe at your house. My mom is forgetful and I'm sure I will need this when I come visit. See you around Valentines Day! Love Baby Q." Will do the other to as Aunt. Was going to wait awhile but moms coming on vaca with us in July and would rather her know sooner than later.
    5. 2.5 weeks of school left for the year!
    6. Hoping therapist gives me some good advice for telling my mom and having some coping skills for if she reacts negatively.
    7. Worried about eventually having to tell my boss. I've never tried "announce" my sexuality and I am rather feme, so it's not exactly common knowledge. My boss is a bible thumping older hard ass black lady . Not sure what to say or when to say it. As of right now I will stop working when baby(ies) get here, which will be mid school year for us.
8.i have my year end review 1 week from today...we have to keep a whole box of artifacts to defend our job. It's such great fun. This school does it way different than past school. It's like taking a college exit exam!
    9. Wondering if that high of a beta (907) at 16dpo is a sign of multiples. Would love to hear what some of your numbers with multiples might be!
    10. Wondering when the "right" time to tell people is? I know mile stones...1st ultrasound, 1st trimester, 6 months and so on...but when do you tell close family vs. fb???

Bonus pip of our "positive" test

    10 medicated IUI's (3 with injectables).

7 week ultrasound showed 2 wonderful heartbeats!

9 week ultrasound showed both babies are still great.

    1. @manada you crack me up.  Eat all the food, girl!

    2. @trisholio I'm so sorry to hear that you're concerned about your dog.  Keep in mind that many dogs exhibit really different behaviors when one of their humans is pregnant.  But you're right that there is also the chance that there's something wrong with him.  Will your vet take a phone call from you for no charge?  Maybe talking through what's going on might put you at ease a little bit?  At any rate, feel free to PM me any time.  We have an aggressive dog and while it's been a HUGE challenge, we've been able to make things work so far.  Sending hugs.

    3. @AandStilltrying good luck with telling your Mom!  I hope it goes better than expected.

    4. @Mamosey happy adoption day tomorrow!  Hopefully you can do something fun to celebrate after the court appointment.

    5. I have no motivation at work lately.  Like NONE.  I spend all my time doing anything BUT work.  Who am I?  This is a really REALLY big problem because S needs to be able to leave her job in the next few years.  She's tired and burnt out and needs a change.  That can't happen if I don't step it up.  But I just can't seem to do it.  I wonder if I'm slowly creeping towards some depression ... Ugh, I said it.

    6. It's been over a week since Gabe woke more than once overnight.  OMG YAY!

    7. As an exchange for good sleep, he has now hit a stage where he absolutely refuses to be buckled into his car seat.  Like, standing up/flipping over/screaming like he's bat-$hit crazy refusing.  It's embarassing and I feel like I'm abusing my child.  I'm at a loss for how to handle it.

    8. This morning the dog barfed up the remains of the shoe he ate the other night (a nice snack at like, 3am).  I had to lock Gabe in the front hall in order to clean it up without him getting into it.  I'm totally at a "Hey, whatever works man" stage.

    9. We have been having some repair work done on our home from water damage this past winter.  For the most part they've done a good job, but I really don't like what they finished yesterday and I'm struggling with how to tell them.  They made a judgement call on how to handle an issue, and I really think it looks like crap.  I don't want to be insulting, but I also don't want to have to suck it up.  Then again, I really just want them to be done!

    10. Last night I made the decision that I will stop pumping at the end of this month.  I mean, it's pretty ridiculous.  Right now I pump 2x day and I get maybe 6-8 oz total.  I send 3oz to daycare (his morning sippy cup) and freeze the rest.  For his other 2 daycare sippies he gets WCM.  I nurse him at night.  I don't even know if that stupid 3oz bottle is giving him any extra benefit than what he's getting through nursing. And I truly hate pumping.  Anyway, the decision has made me feel seriously liberated (but also a bit guilty).  Thus is parenting, I guess.  It's hard to ever feel 100% right in the decision you make.

    Have a great day everyone!

  • 1. I had a sneaky bout of nausea this morning that came out of no where... Better than feeling nauseous all the time... But it just surprised me! I had a candy bar on my way to work and maybe it was Squints' way of saying ENOUGH CANDY!!

    2. Day Camp started here yesterday... And that means I can relax a little bit! These 10-14 hours days have been killing me!

    3. We have been watching OITNB and so far I don't think it has the same draw as the first season...

    4. @firstcomeslove2013‌ and I had a selfie photo shoot for our pregnancy announcement yesterday... It was very fun. If my computer wasn't frozen I would be working on finishing it right now!

    5. I need a nap.

    6. I have a page a day calendar that literally hasn't been changed since the day I was promoted (March 17)... I have some catching up to do!

    7. @trisholio We have bad dogs and I am really nervous about them as well. I hope everything works out with your pup. Has there been a change in diet or routine lately?

    8. I am also trying to gain some weight. I lost during the first tri and am ready to not be worried about that. Although I don't feel as sick anymore, food that isn't simple carbs just doesn't sound good...

    9. I had to teach CPR last week and when we talked about doing CPR on pregnant people, I thought... Hey! That's me. It was weird.

    10. I am so excited for the recent BFP's and sending good vibes to everyone who is still struggling with TTC. My heart is with you always!

  • @Mamosey‌ - happy adoption day tomorrow!

@Manada - I'm glad to hear things are going well. Good luck with gaining weight!

@AandStilltrying‌ - that is one heck if a second line!

    1. I went to Tim Hortons with the intention if getting an unsweetened iced tea. I left with an Oreo iced Capp...it is delicious!

    2. CD 2 today! I'm starting BCPs tonight.

    3. Quick recap of our plan in case you all don't read the TTC Check-In...3 weeks of BCPs starting tonight. Ute measurement, mock transfer and IVF teaching on 6/19. Blood work and u/s 6/30. Stimming starts 7/4 and ER should be the week of 7/14. Our one complication is that on 7/11 we are out of town. The nurse hasn't called me back yet, so must be my RE approved us moving forward even with that little issue. I hate wishing my life away, but here's to hoping that the next 4 weeks fly by!

    4. There are two IVF nurses in the office. Yesterday, I spoke with the one I have talked to before to inform them of CD 1. She made sure I had all the papers for blood work and asked if I had the partner one. UGH! Same lady who I had to explain to last time that I have a female partner. When she asked I said nope, I have a female partner. I'm going to guess that she was embarrassed, because the other nurse is the one who called to schedule everything with me. She was much nicer and even asked if C would be coming with me to the appointments. That one obviously took the time to inform herself before calling. That was much appreciated. I'm hoping she is who we meet with on the 19th. P.S. - they took 12 vials of blood. Holy crap that was unexpected!

    5. My endometriosis is almost back to where it was before the surgery...meaning the pain and other symptoms. That is disappointing to say the least.

    6. Had my first counseling appointment last night. Spent the whole time recapping our past year of TTC.

    7. C continues to be smoke free. It has been 6 weeks now. I'm proud of her.

    8. I'm already starting to stress over ER...what if none of the eggs are mature? What if none fertilize? What if none make it to day 3? What if we don't even get to ER before we are cancelled? Etc, etc, etc. Thankfully we are purchasing two fresh cycles, so we have something to fall back on.

    9. I found my 200th geocache over the weekend!

    10. I'm finally going to place some of our own geocaches. I'm in the planning stage now and hope to get them out this week/weekend.

    Me: 30  DW (aka C): 29

Together since 2/15/11 ~ Legally married in NY on 9/29/12

    ***CP mentioned***

We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm.  8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy.  We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET.  I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013.

11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.

12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

    1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

     ****All Welcome!****

We are Mommas to four fur babies - 3 dogs and 1 cat.

  • 1.  I feel like I'm ahead of the game today, Owen was up before 6, and Kaden at 6:15. Needless to say I've gotten a bunch of things done around the house.  It's a good thing too since it has been 106-107 during the day lately.  Today its only going to be in the 90's.

    2. I've start my job search "for real".  Trying to get back into a working mindset is not easy, and I'm struggling a little with remembering what I used to do, and making it relevant to my next career move.  Sigh.  Talking about poopy diapers and sleep schedules is not going to get me hired.

    3. Pertaining to #2, I admitted to EV that I was struggling a little having a myriad of feelings and thoughts around re-entering the work force. First and foremost I feel guilty about leaving my kids in childcare, in particular Owen who is so young. I also feel guilty because I want to go back to work and feel like staying home should be enough for me.

    4. Little baby K (She doesn't have a first name yet)  is precious. I heard more of our friends birth story. Giving birth on the side of the road, was as wild and glamorous as it is in the movies. Their prius is a bloody mess, so the midwives suggested hiring a crime scene cleaner to detail the car.  But most importantly both Mama & baby are fine.  I can't wait for the next opportunity to visit them, and for Kaden & Owen to meet their new "cousin".  (We'll be honest and open with our kiddos when they're old enough, but I think we are going to call baby K and her sister A cousins, since only one is genetically related but both are "family").

    5. We went to the zoo on Saturday. It was an alumni event for my school, with breakfast, a plug from the CEO of the zoo, and a docent tour.  Kaden looooved the zoo.  He was enthralled by all of the animals, in particular the giraffes and tigers.  One of the viewing spaces for the tiger exhibit is raised. While were standing there, I bent down and pointed out a tiger that had just gotten up and was walking in our direction.  Kaden's expression was priceless as he backed up startled by the size of the "cat".

    6. I'm so excited about the recent BFP's.  Having the three check-in's on Monday is great, I feel like I can see the progression from TTC to Pregnancy to Parenting for our little community. I'm also looking forward to meeting our July babies :-)  For those TTC I hope you get your BFP's soon.  I know it makes no sense but when I "graduated" to the next stage I always missed the one before, no matter how anxious I was to "graduate".

    7. Kaden can now scale the kitchen cabinets to get onto the counter top.  EV is going to help me install a gate ASAP.

    8.  I am soooooo tired.  It's making the job search even harder. Blah!!

    9. We started watching OITNB - we're a few episodes into the season.   We're also behind on a few other shows we like to watch.  I'm looking forward to catching up. Laying around and watching TV at night with EV is now my favorite past time.

    10.  So far so good on the weight loss front.  We're walking regularly and I'm eating less/healthier and the pounds are slowly falling off. Still a long way to go, but I feel like I'm committed and that's the first step.

Ooooh, us too!  I think we watched episode #4 last night.  It's hilarious, but now as soon as we get Gabe to bed we rush into the kitchen, clean up and do prep for the next day, then catch each others' eyes and race into the den to watch our nightly episode.  I'm totally loving it!

  • 1. Sunday was our Day 5 embryo transfer!  Things went great and there were 2 "picture perfect" as they said, blastocysts that were transferred. L was really sad she couldn't be in the room like our IUIs. Keeping our fingers crossed we get a BFP on June 20th!

    2. I really need a nap. I blame the Crinone I take twice a day. I probably get up at least 5 times a night to pee :(  I also feel bad because L wakes up every time also.

    3. I have a cold. My nose is stuffy and I have a sore throat. Wish I could just curl up and go to sleep.

    4. We finished the final episode of Friday Night Lights and started OITNB season 2. I wish I could say I'm excited about it but I think its boring. We are on episode 9 or 10 I believe. Everyone keeps telling us to wait for the last episode.

    5. My job is ending in a few weeks and I just haven't found another nanny/family assistant position that sounds like a good fit. I'm working with two agencies so hopefully I will find something soon. I might just find a summer position for now and figure out what I want to do in the fall. L is a little stressed because she is the "budget queen" and is afraid I won't find something.

    6. So far we have bought my plane ticket to Portland and we need to buy L's soon. We just can't leave on the same day because she has to work. Counting the days till July 5!

    7. This Saturday is the Warrior Dash. I did it last year with L's family and it was a blast. This year I won't be able to do it because of my 2ww, so I get to watch the niece and nephews while everyone gets dirty!

    8. We need to buy a summer beach pass for the beaches by our house. Sucks you have to pay but at least there is a lifeguard on duty and they are really clean compared to the public beaches in Chicago.

    9. There is also a fenced in dog beach that we can take Milly to, but then our vet told us some stories about how they treated a few small dogs that ended up dying because of the big dogs. Milly is only 5 pounds so no dog beach for her this summer :(

    10. This has taken forever to finish. I blame HGTV. It always sucks me in. Today I am watching Flip it to win it, but I really need to shower so I can get to work.

  • @AandstillTrying - Check out betabase for betas - here's the triplet averages...I'm not sure what DPO your beta was on, but yours was definitely super high! https://www.betabase.info/chart/basic/triplets

@doodah1013 - Don't worry so much about weight gain. So long as baby is measuring right you are good - and, I'm with you on the carbs. One idea that got me some calories was fat. Good fats with a high calorie density. Like i started added a few tablespoons of unsweetened coconut to things (yogurt, granola), and just eating random spoonfuls of nut butters (100 calories a mouthful!). Two ounces of cheese when typically I eat one ounce at a time... Just ideas that are kind of bland like a carb but a good alternative.

    1. Tomorrow is my birthday! I will be 30w as well. And OLD. But also it's kind of fun to have two milestones on one day!

    2. My BFF sister is turning 40 next week, and she wanted to combine our celebrations. So Thursday, I am making the dinner of her choice (Polish food - we are 1/4th Polish) though it doesn't feel very June or summery - she wanted meatloaf, cabbage rolls and perogies... with hot fudge sundaes and strawberry shortcake. So that's what we're having for the family celebration.

    3. I'm taking the rest of the week off after today as well! Tomorrow J has to work a bit and wants to go to her boxing class, plus we have our childbirth ed class- so we are going to have Friday be "my" day together. Meanwhile, I think I'll go to the spa tomorrow to celebrate on my own!

    4. Is it wrong to call my diabetes educator and ask if I can bump up my insulin for my birthday dinner?? :)

    5. I read the TTC thread and the Parenting threads, and I love keeping up with all of you. I am so hopeful for the TTC'ers who are embarking on IVF...just know even though I'm not posting, I'm with you!!

    6. We tried out a dog for 1 night. It was a nightmare. The cats unionized against us! It was mutiny! Fortunately the dog was a friends, and it was a trial - so no problem giving him back. They are keeping him and happy about it.

    7. I'm not complaining, but geez the 3rd tri is proving a bit challenging. Just mostly I'm pooped for no good reason, other than making a human, and my engagement and interest in work is seriously diminished. Only 6 more weeks of work! Last day is August 1st!

    8. I hate gestational diabetes. Hate. It. It's so hard to regulate and get it right, I feel so sad and bad for Simone when I bathe her in sugars despite eating right, and am a little mad at my body for sucking. On the upside, it means my placenta is in full form and doing good work...but still. I do not want a 14 lb. newborn!! (It's not that bad. I'm exaggerating. Because I do that.)

    9. J is SO excited for the baby. It's been really cute lately how much she's just blurted out little things like "I can't wait to meet her!" "She's going to be so cool," etc. It's very sweet. She's going to be a kicka** mama.

    10. It's cloudy and overcast in Seattle!!! Seriously it's been SO sunny and blue skies and warm, yesterday I asked J "Did we move to California and I didn't notice?" - loving a nice gray cool day!! (yes, obviously I live here for a reason...)

    Happy Day everyone!!

  • 1. Wow so many new pregnancies! It's so exciting.

    2. One of our best couple friends just got a BFP and we celebrated with them last night. Their EDD is Feb 10th, and I'm so excited for our kiddos to be buddies. They are both really hoping for a boy. We'll see in 14 or so weeks :)

    3. We got shocking news at our MFM appt yesterday. We went in ready to discuss natural cesarean's and schedule the c-section date and miraculously found out my placenta is now 1.5 cm away from my cervical opening. We were shocked and so was the OB. So no more 37 week cesarean for us!

    4. I'm quite thrilled that Bubbles gets to stay on the inside for a few more weeks. We are still deciding if we want a planned cesarean or to try a vaginal birth at the hospital, with the team ready for an emergency c-section. It's a really hard decision and I feel pretty conflicted right now. I'm looking forward to a chat with our midwife to see what she says.

    5. J and I are a little panicked about preparing for a vaginal birth now, we need to hire a doula and finish up or childbirth education materials. This pregnancy is sure giving us good practice for going with the flow and constantly changing plans and expectations.

    6. I wish J and I had time and money for a vacation real quick before the baby comes. I feel like we hardly spend any quality time together these days. She is usually working until 7 with the new job and is pretty stressed. Oh well, at least we have a few more weekends together before baby comes.

    7. My dad is going on a road trip with his new girlfriend a week before our due date. I'm kind of shocked, but maybe I shouldn't really care. I've decided I don't care for her much though, and neither do my siblings and step siblings. I had a long chat with my friend about it last night. Her mom passed away a few years ago and she can't stand the woman her dad is going to marry.

    8. I need a nap

    9. Our dogs need a walk

    10. Only two more hours of work, woo hoo!

Ok so I have no experience with multiples but have received an u/s at around 6 weeks and 8 weeks before.  Sometimes the heartbeat can be detected around 6 weeks - but I think sometimes it takes a little longer (7-8 weeks).

When is your first u/s appointment?

  • @2MamazInSeattle‌ Ahhhh we were 16dpo!!!! Triplets?!?!? Holy smokes! How soon until we will know how many there are? Goin nuts. 2nd beta tomorrow.
@AandStilltrying - I saw the hb with both our pregnancies at 6w1d. The first one was stronger than the second, but it was there. WIth multiples tho, may take a little more. I'd ask your RE at second beta. For sure at 6w you can see how many sacks, etc.

And yikes lady! 677 is the 16dpo average for triplets...you may have quite a brood in there!

  • I'm PRAYING we just have high hcg. Really hoping! I don't want to be in the position of having to go through reduction. I'm gonna need all kinds of support if this could happen. Our RE doesn't seem as worried about it as we do. Sarah is definitely in a much better place with it then I am. :/

  • Lets see...

    1. Work is super boring right now. There is nothing going on with my unit, and the girls in the office are actually fighting over work!  It's pretty funny, but makes for a really long, loooooong day!

    2. Did I mention that my wife and I are both military?

    3. This month feels like it’s already going really slow.  Having to wait till next month for our first IUI is killing me!!  I just want to start now.  I’m so impatient.

    4. Our 3 year wedding anniversary is coming up next week.  This will be the first time we have been together for one!  It’s exciting.

    5. I was at Walmart the other day looking at all the baby clothing and started tearing up.  I guess that’s a good sign that I’m ready to become a mom?

    6. My Mom and in-laws are going to be visiting at the beginning of July.  My Mom is staying for 2 weeks while DW’s parents are only here for a week or so.  I cannot wait.  It’s so boring here that we beg for company, but none of our friends from out East will ever come here to visit us, and we know that.  This is what we signed up for, so we go where we are told.

    7. This weekend I get to put together 5 Adirondack chairs.  Plus they need to be stained.  When we bought them at Costco the girl that checked our receipt when we were leaving said ‘good luck’….. I have a feeling they are worse than putting together IKEA furniture.  Good thing I’m awesome at assembling stuff!

    8. I wish it would stop raining and actually get warm here.  It feels more like fall than spring.

    9. I think our pup is trying to get us/me used to being up through the night in anticipation for a baby.  She wakes up at around 1am, and again at about 3:30-4am when the sun starts to come up.  And of course when she wakes up, I wake up.  But I’m getting so used to it that when I sleep the whole night, I’m groggy the next day.  It’s weird.

    10. I want the weekend to get here.. enough though they are calling for more rain.

  • I've been lurking but not posting for a while, so I thought I better jump back in!

    1. B and I have been having a rough patch. Every time we get into a fight she ends up walking out and leaving (the house and the relationship).  We had a huge fight about a week and a half ago and things just haven't been the same at all.  I think it has a lot to do with when we break up I mentally prepare myself that it's ok and I can be a single mom, and this time my brain hasn't switched back to wanting to be a team again, on the off-chance that she leaves again.

    2. I posted a while back about going to the doctor mainly for all the bruises that keep showing up on my legs.  Well I went to the doctor and they couldn't find anything and basically told me that there's nothing wrong.  However, I'm still bruising like crazy.  I currently have 11 bruises on my legs, and I don't know where any of them came from.

    3. N has to get tubes because of the number of ear infections she's had.  Her surgery is scheduled for next week.

    4.  I'm taking the day off of work to take her, and I'm a bit nervous about how my work is going to deal with my time off.  My work is a family-oriented workplace, however I got an email from my boss last week that I've been taking too much time off (for N's ear infections) and although I'm using PTO for it that he would like to talk about it at my next monthly meeting.

    5. During the big fight between B and I, I called my parents to talk.  My dad is a very level-headed guy and it's nice to talk to him because he will openly tell me when I'm not thinking clearly.  Now both my parents are "disappointed" in my choice to get back together with B because of some of the things she said while we were fighting.

    6. Because my parents are disappointed in me they are not talking to me at all.  B is also not willing to be around them at all.

    7. I feel really stressed out about all parts of my life and just want things back to normal.

    8. On a more positive note, I have become closer friends with a girl from work who has a son around the same age as N.  We have talked about hanging out together outside of work a couple times and it looks like it's actually going to happen in the near future!

Going to cut it short and get back to work... Hope everyone has a good day!

Holy hell @newmompeanut, you're dealing with a lot of crap right now!  But it's nice to have you back.

Good luck with N's tubes.  For us it really ended up being no big deal.  But I understand it's hard to believe that until it's behind you.

    Sending hugs.

  • Thanks @JGY and @TwoMomsinTX!  I just reread what I posted and I sound like such a complainer... I'm sorry!

JGY, I remember that you got tubes a couple months ago and was going to reach out and see if you had any advise or helpful tips that made it go easier on the LO.
  • JGYJGY member

@newmompeanut you are not a complainer at all.  That's a lot of stuff to be dealing with at once, and none of it is small potatoes even on its own!

Yes, Gabe got tubes in February.  Is N having the procedure done at a Children's hospital or a regular one?  I feel like that made a difference for us because they were just so in tune with kids at our place.  They understood their needs, were super flexible (where they could be), and everything was just the right size for kiddos.

The thing that stressed me out the most was having to make Gabe fast prior to the procedure (because of the anesthesia).  So I was really careful to choose the time for surgery that I thought would work best for us. If it's possible for you to do that as well I would certainly recommend it, but I will also say that in the end the distraction of being in the hospital setting was enough to keep Gabe occupied and he never once seemed hungry (even though the surgery ended up occurring about 1-2 hours late).

Bring anything that will help comfort N (lovies, toys, etc) and never be afraid to ask questions, especially "Can I stay with her/when can I see her/do I HAVE to leave?"

That's all I've got.  Good luck!  It'll be over before you know it.
