DS has eczema and my pedi said to use eucerin, but that's not helping. I have read about cerave and vanicream as both being good options. Does anyone have experience and can recommend one over the other? TIA!
My son has some mild eczema on this elbow knee. I got some Aveeno baby lotion for eczema and it has helped a lot. Its pretty pricey but well worth it. It also makes his skin sooooo soft.
Dove no scent hypoallergenic soap with a prescription of triamcinolone(hydrocortisone 2.5%) from the doctor and also I switched his laundry detergent to dreft free and clear hypoallergenic
My LO didn't have eczema but he had HOORRRIIBBBLLEEE baby acne. We used the Mustella face wash for eczema prone skin and it was cleared up within 2-3 days. I swear by those products (for cradle cap, too).
aquaphor to itchy spot, change detergent to hypoallergenic and fragrance free- this helps a lot. Also, use perfume free lotion on baby's skin- if it has alcohol in the ingredients, it is there to preserve the scent. If the eczema is especially bad you can do an oatmeal bath too. Only use cortisol creams if the inflammation is extremely bad. Steroids are in general not good to baby's little body.
My son had what I thought was baby acne on his forehead and eyebrows turned out to be a slight case of craddel cap. Our ped recommened Nutrogena T-Gel you can get it at Wal-Mart by the theraputic shampoo isle. It worked amazing and instantly it was clearded up. It may work for your situation as well, if not its always a good thing to have on hand and use once every 5 washes on their body to prevent outbreaks.
