Wednesday Workout

Good morning! How's everyone doing this week? Has anyone tried a new workout or recipe they want to share?

I mentioned in the randoms thread yesterday that I was in a slump, but I'm attempting to turn it around today. I woke up and did a 40 minute Fitsugar full body workout and I'm going to the gym at lunch to do 30 minutes on the treadmill. Eating has been okay this week, but could be better. I'm holding steady at 27 lbs lost. One more pound will put me below 200 for the first time in over 3 years so that's what I'm working for right now.

  • Good luck on your 5K @thisisbrea. I'm thinking about signing up for the Shape Magazine Diva Run in August. But DC in August is hot as balls with oppressive humidity so idk if I really want to do that to myself.

  • I've been doing pretty well lately. Not great though. 5k (walking) on Friday and then the fitness challenge workouts Mon, Tues. I'm afraid I'm going to end up with huge manly arms from some of this stuff.

     Yes, my goal is yoga 3x, plus tennis with MH on Fridays for an hour and a half. I really need to be more fit. Maybe you guys can provide some encouragement!

  • Did a 30 minute walk and 30 minutes of zumba yesterday. This morning did another walk with DD and have open water swim practice later this evening. My next triathlon is July 12th! Gotta get training again!

    That's still great! Two classes is better than none.
    I always have to tell myself, "__ minutes is better than no minutes" when I get interrupted or plain give up before finishing a yoga class. I try to do *some* each day - minimum of 20 minutes, but that doesn't always happen.

  • I've had three great workouts this week so far. It always seems that the mornings I wake up dragging ass and don't want to work out (like today) I end up pushing myself the hardest. Eating has been good. Needing some new snacks for the afternoon. @peanutbutterfox, I have a healthy recipes board on my Pinterest if you are looking for some good recipes. I have made a lot of them

  • I'm down 11 lbs since March with another 39 to go. This morning I walked 3.3 miles at a brisk pace. Yesterday I did 3.85 miles. Just wasn't feelin' it this morning and couldn't quite go the entire hour but not bad for out of shape and overweight me :)
  • I haven't been able to get to the gym this week because work is swamped but I have been running with my neighbor doing the Couch to 5K. We just moved up to week 2.

  • Started block 2 of p90x3 yesterday.  I bought the pull-up bar last week when beachbody had a sale (was using bands before).  I am pretty sure I won't be able to lift my kids tomorrow.

    2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
    TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
    Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14

    I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

  • I've had bad knees since I was a kid, though the extra weight does exacerbate the issue. I haven't noticed much difference yet, but I do still have quite a bit left to lose. I also just got new shoes and I did notice a difference there while running yesterday.

  • I'm a day late but can I join? First of all, you ladies are all awesome! I enjoy reading what everyone else is doing. High fives to everyone. Several people mentioned just finishing races - congrats! And for those that mentioned signing up for one - I hope you do as well as you hope for!

    I'm almost 5 months post baby and really trying to get back into working out on a regular basis and eating decent. Not getting a decent amount of sleep is really putting a damper on this though.

    This week I ran two miles on Monday and that's about it. I'm signed up to run a half marathon in October so I'm really hoping I can pick back up on the running and gym thing soon!
  • Thanks to everyone for the advice last week on the cramps - getting more water the night before has totally helped! 

    I finally finished week 6 of C25k.  Tonight, I'm doing my first 5k.  I know I won't be able to run the whole thing but I'm hoping it'll be fun.  It's supposed to be 99 here today but there's a margarita at the finish line so that should keep me moving :)

    Eating hasn't been great.  A couple months ago I was able to almost totally cut out desserts (usually I'd have sweets several times/day), but I'm back to eating a ton of sugar again and it definitely doesn't make me feel great.  I keep saying, once I finish this thing of Oreos, I'm not buying anymore sugar stuff for the house.  And then I buy Nutella...

  • You might surprise yourself @atxfoodie.  The race atmosphere totally keeps you going beyond what you normally can do.  Just keep a nice, slow, steady pace and repeat "just keep running" over and over in your head. 

    But 99 degree weather?  F that.  The worst I ever did was on a humid 90 degree day and I thought I was going to die.  Hopefully it cools down a bit before you start.  Good luck!
