I told my pedi we are vaccinating on schedule and she basically launched into this whole monologue about why that was a good idea. It was weird because I didn't ask about delayed vaccination at all and she was drawing graphs and everything. Anyways, she basically explained how the doses are meant to be taken at just the right times to build your child's immunity as they grow. If you delay it they are still pretty susceptible to the said disease. She said it's certainly better than not vaccinating at all but it's a risky choice and one that is being made when the child is most vulnerable. For the record, this was my pedi's info, I could care less weather people decide to vaccinate on schedule or not as long as it gets done eventually.
Emma has been pissed off at the world since noon and either crying or moaning all afternoon. She has a slight fever, so i gave her tylenol and she went back to sleep right after that.
For those whose lo reacted to the rotavirus vaccine, how long did the diarrhea last or is it still occurring? We're on day 5 post vaccine and he still has diarrhea, tummy pain and lots of spit up (more than usual
It's been over 24 hours since DD got hers and, by some miracle, she hasn't had any side effects other than sleeping for 5 straight hours last night. Wahoo! She only cried for a few seconds and calmed down the minute I scooped her off the table. We were fortunate since we had to run from the pediatrician to the hospital for a hip ultrasound less than an hour later. She was such a trooper and didn't make a peep during the ultrasound. Everything looked normal, so all around it was a pretty great day. Sending good vibes to everyone else whose LOs are not feeling well or have yet to get their shots!

Tomorrow makes day 7 for us and his poop is finally starting to go back to normal. It's still more runny than normal but not watery anymore.
