Did you have symptoms during the TWW?

Hi Everyone, I wanted to get a sense of your experiences with any symptoms during the TWW. My DW is currently on pergostone and today is day 7PIUI. She doesn't really have any symptoms yet and the medication is supposed to give her some. So I am just wondering what all of your experiences were.

Thanks!

  • Hi - Sorry about that!  My DW and I have been together for 11 years and were married 3 years ago.  We recently moved abroad for a job opportunity at my company.  We will be here for another few years.  Since my wife's work schedule is flexible right now we decided it would be a good time to start trying to have a family (also we just entered our 30's and don't want to miss out on starting a family).

Last week we went to the clinic and she received the first IUI (now we are in the middle of our first TWW).  On Thursday she started taking progesterone and she hasn't really had any symptoms.  I am not sure if this is normal but me being a little crazy, I wanted to know what other people had gone through regarding early symptoms.

Let me know if there is anything else you think I should add?

    Thanks for the input!
  • Mostly around 10 days I smelled smoke , felt a little dizzy when getting up and Dw said my boobs looked huge. Tested at 10 dpiui and got bfn on a dollar store test and today at 14dpiui got bfp on blood test

  • Symptoms in the 2WW don't usually mean much since PMS and early pregnancy symptoms are identical (due to progesterone).  You won't develop enough HCG in your blood for a few weeks after implantation to experience the *real* pregnancy symptoms such as nausea, heightened sense of smell, extreme fatigue, etc.

Just adding this so you don't obsess too much :) I did my first 2WW and drove myself (and my partner) completely insane.

Progesterone support may cause fatigue, increased appetite, mood swings, and sore breasts (again, PMS vs. early pregnancy?  No one can tell until the 2WW is over, unfortunately).

    Anyway, welcome and good luck!

  • When I did a cycle with progesterone inserts, which was a BFN, I didn't have as many side effects from the progesterone as I thought I would.  Everyone reacts differently.  Some people are very sensitive to the progesterone and others are not.  Same for pregnancy symptoms...not every experiences them in the same way.  I would also reiterate what @wishiwaspreggo said.  Good luck!  Feel free to join us in the TTC Check-In for the time being.
