  • Insomnia isn't usually an issue for me, but I had trouble falling asleep last night...so of course DS2 thought today would be a great day to wake up at 5am! I've had two cups of coffee already and I still feel like a zombie. And it's raining. Womp womp. I think I'm going to go suggest we all cuddle in my bed and watch a show so I can at least close my eyes for a bit. Mother of the year right here!

This was me last week. One morning I let DS watch tv for 2 hours straight while I zonked out on the chair.

  • I'm averaging 2-3 hours of broken sleep a night thanks to major pregsomnia and it's getting old very quickly.  I told my SO that at least when I don't get any sleep after the baby, there is a cute squishy to distract me.  Right now, this just blows, and the doc suggested Benadryl or warm milk.  Just ew.

Having a rough night. DH works in sales, so while the dealership is "open 8-6 or 8-8" depending on the day, he can be stuck there a lot later if he's with a customer. I'm very appreciative of the hard work he does and the fact that his job allows us to live a comfortable lifestyle, but it sucks when he has customers consistently coming in 15 min before close and taking up 1-2 hrs of his time that he could be home with me. What really got me tonight, though, was this lady had said she'd buy her car tonight, so he goes in even though Monday is technically his "day off" and the lady decides she's not sure and says she'll come back Wednesday at 5:30 to do a few more test drives and hopefully buy something. Wednesday is our 3 yr anniversary and the dealership closes at 6, so I was hoping we could actually do something since this is the last anniversary before everything changes. When DH told me about this lady's plans I instantly started to ugly cry. How are we ever going to have date nights when the baby comes if we can't even swing one when it's just the two of us?! I am feeling all the scareds and sads about how my marriage is going to be different in 6-ish weeks. :(
I feel you. My DH is either deploying or going to a training thing in August. I'm not looking forward to him being gone so long, especially with a new baby. Do you have a good support system? Think about the weekends you two can take when baby is with grandparents!
Well now I feel silly.  I would never be able to do the military spouse lifestyle, so I admire you.  I truly have no clue how you do it.  I am lucky to have family close and friends that I could trust to babysit, so I shouldn't complain.  I think hormones got the very best of me last night!

Oh no! I didn't mean to discredit you at all! I've been in relationships before DH where I felt the same way. It totally sucks. I just wanted to say that I understand how crappy it is. I knew what I was getting myself into with the whole military wife life, so don't feel too bad for me ;)
(Plus, DH looks amazing in a uniform, so I'm happy)
I totally feel the same way! And seeing the DH in uniform is a nice consolation prize for all the leaving ;-). @JamieSejkora‌, I have totally ugly cried already a few times when DH had "duty" for a night (he had to stay the night at work), because we have very little time left until LO is here. Very normal to feel sad/worried about future date nights, hormones or not (and military or not)!

My mother keeps complaining that she feels like she's missing everything re: my pregnancy, because they live an hour and a half away and I only go to visit once every one or two months.  Wtf is there that she could be missing?!  I don't even want to be around ME, much less anyone else.
My mom feels left out too. Left out of what? Sitting around and staring at my bump?! No thanks!

My mom hasn't said as much, but I know she feels this way. The crazy part is that this is our third baby! She'd move in with us in a hot second if she could. :shudder:

Meanwhile, my dad lives 1.5 hours away, and he would be fine with fast forwarding until the baby is 6 months (he and my mom got together when I was two, so he's scared of tiny babies! He isn't comfy until they have some heft to them! ). He misses me, DS and DH a lot, but i seriously think he's purposely avoided coming to my house for about 4 months now...especially after knowing about my mmc last year, he's terrified!

My sister said this. I offered to share my morning sickness, exhaustion and inability to easily eat/sleep. She said no thanks and hasn't brought it up again.  ;)

  • Random question for the STMs: can you comfortably wear fitted yoga pants with the mesh underwear they give you at the hospital? Trying to figure out what kind of comfy pants to pack for going home. I was totally planning on lulu lemon wunder unders and forgot about the whole bleeding situation :-/

  • @TallMomma29 I wore yoga pants home with DS that were semi-fitted but I also did not wear the mesh undies by that time. However I would have felt comfortable enough wearing the mesh with my pants without looking completely like I'm wearing and adult diaper. They are thin enough. But I would probably pass on the wunder unders just as precaution but not because of the mesh.  I wouldn't want to risk any leakage into my awesome lulu lemon merchandise haha.

Octopus is a genius description! It's been feeling like that here too! Alien baby :-o

  • An email for free cupcakes was sent to the whole office. My coworker (she's pregnant with twins and about 9 weeks behind me) literally RAN to the kitchen. It was hilarious. She took 2, 1 for each baby.

Then I was sad because I waddled over there in a leisurely manner and got exactly 0 cupcakes.

Yoga pants are perfect PP, I think. They are comfy and keep everything feeling like it's not all going to fall out (sorry for that visual...) However, I can't bring myself to wear the mesh panties once I'm out of the hospital. I's rather ruin the cheap Hanes I buy for PP and have to change my pad more often if it means I can maintain some dignity. ;)

Lol. THIS. Exactly why I mentioned not wearing them by the time I was released. Way more comfy in my Hanes! Or were they fruit of the looms... Either way cheap granny panties it was! And they didn't get ruined either. I'm hoping for a similar recovery this time around in terms of not bleeding like crazy after the first day. Fingers crossed!

  • Ok, adding a pack of cheap granny panties to my hospital bag list... @shanicenicolle‌ YES on the swelling. But only/mainly my feet. My left foot is so swollen it hurts to touch :( Be aware it's a sign of pre-e to have sudden swelling though! If you get any other symptoms, call the OB!

How are granny panties any more dignified than the mesh panties?  Then again, the granny panties I bought pre-baby so I wouldn't ruin my good stuff conveniently went directly across my incision line and were super uncomfortable as a result, so that may be why I actually preferred the mesh.
  • @Summerlovin314 DH is obsessed with that song "Wiggle" for some reason. My butt used to be tiny being that I used to be 120 lbs. Now it's actually really nice. I've relished the times when I've been able to shake it and I'm going to be sad to see it go. Keep twerking, girl!!!

  • Pregsomnia time! Got up at 3:30 to pee and have been up since (its 5 now.) It's hot as balls here, and my DH and puppy are trying to cuddle me, which is making it even hotter. Waaaaaaaaah.
