Josephine Aimee's Birth Announcement!

I would like to introduce my precious daughter Josephine! She was born on May 21st at 5:51 pm. She was 29w 2d gestation and weighed 2lb 4oz. She has been doing incredibly well. She is still being fed by gavage tube, but is tolerating her feeds very well and steadily gaining weight (she is 2lb 10oz already!). Her breathing is still being assisted by a nasal cannula, but she has it pulled out half the time (she's feisty!) and her stats never drop. I am working on writing her complete birth story, and will post it when it is done.

She is beautiful and wonderful and perfect, and we are so proud of her!

I'm sorry its taken so long to post this announcement...being a preemie/NICU mom is obviously not something I ever imagined having to deal with, so it has been quite an adjustment. Please keep us all in your thoughts and prayers, that she will continue to grow and thrive and come home with us soon. :-)

@MC03 Yeah...pre-e is a bitch. Thats one of the reasons it took me so long to get this posted. My blood pressure is still a hot mess and I'm supposed to be resting as much as possible, so I don't spend too much time on the computer. But I feel a little better every day. :-)

Congratulations on your beautiful baby girl! My first son was born at 29 weeks, 1 day due to severe pre-e. He is now 6.5 years old, healthy, smart and full of energy! He was very similar in size to little Josephine at birth. He came home at 35 weeks. I wish you all the best in your recovery and can't wait to hear all about Josephine's progress!
