The boys and I have dentist appointments this afternoon. I made the appointments 6 months ago when DH was at his old job and had t/the afternoons off so he could help me. Wish me luck. Lots of luck.
Im trying to figure out what to do with some of this baby stuff. We were given things like an excersaucer, bassinet, and stroller as gifts and I'm done with it. Is it tacky to post it to FB to see if other friends want it? I feel like if I gifted that to someone I would be offended if I saw them giving it away? Maybe? I'm not sure what the etiquette is.
I just ordered the full-size mattress and foundation to convert Hannah's crib into a bed. I had thought about waiting, but overstock had such a good deal, I couldn't pass it up.
At SD's show last night they did a simultaneous art show. Each child submitted one piece, and the parents could purchase it for $3. BM got there before us and purchased SD's piece. We never even got to see it. Not like she doesn't get every other artwork and piece of paper that comes home from school. I'm am way too annoyed with that woman for my own good right now. I already told DH that he is going to the gymnastics show tomorrow solo, and asked him to videotape for me.

omg so fun! I'm already starting to think about how I want to do Colby's room once we switch him to a big boy bed. That room was keagans nursery, so it desperately needs to be completely re done

I think if you're done with it, there's no reason not to share!

This reminds me I need to look into the conversion kit in case we want to go this route for DD.
Has anyone with older kids taken them berry picking? I think DS would enjoy this, but I'm not sure if he's old enough to pick them without eating them. DD, I know, would be a disaster, lol. But I want to strike before the season's over so I can make jam.

Do you have a lot of local friends with little babies/pregnant? Can you just send a message to them asking if anyone wants it? If you have a lot of people that could possibly use it, I don't think it is rude to offer up gifts that your kids have obviously out grown for free. I wouldn't want to see them up for sale though. Keep sales to BST groups and not your regular page.

we pick berries off our neighbors blueberry bush, last year it was 50/50 mouth to bucket ratio. This year *might* be better, but they also knew they were allowed to eat them right off the bush.

We ordered our conversion kit from BRU almost 3 months ago and it still hasn't come in.
BRU is a bunch of assholes. I know it's just sitting in a warehouse somewhere. Someone could have literally carried it on their back from overseas in this amount of time.

Don't wait on bedding you love. I'm in a funk over not being able to find the bedding I had wanted for the boys' shared room (still over a year away).
If anyone wants to take on the hunt for me. I'm looking for 2 twin size duvet sets of the DwellStudio Skyline bedding.
I really want to take some yoga classes, and am debating whether to try hot yoga or stick with regular.
I vote hot yoga. It actually feels like a workout, and has real calorie burn.
@BPer, do I need more extensive yoga experience to do it? I've taken yoga, but only here and there, with the exception of when I took prenatal. I feel like I need something to complement all this running.

We've gone with ds & he was good about it. We told him we have buy them, take them home, & wash them first, just like when we get them from the store.
DH is working midnights this week. I went to leave for work and DS was still snuggly sleeping so I asked DH if he wanted to drop him off at my mom's when DS got up or have me wake him and bring him. He was fine with bringing him over there. I texted my mom at 10:30. They weren't there. WTF? I called DH. He fell asleep and DS was still sleeping. OMG I was pissed. He won't take a nap later today now and I'm the one who has to deal with him.
I think we finally found the swing set we want for DS and it's $100 cheaper than we originally found. On a side note the guys are at our house installing our new gutters, soffit and fashia. I'm way more excited than I should be.
DS has become the king of backtalk. I'm not being fair to him, I'm being rude to him, blah blah blah. Meanwhile, he just really doesn't want to do whatever I'm asking of him, such as get dressed, go to bed, let me brush his teeth. I'm exhausted, DH says I "engage" him too much (making me want to punch him right in his smug mouth too).

Both my kids did fine and didn't eat any. The biggest problem was that they kept trying to pick the green strawberries.

Yup. I'm a "mean mommy" and he 'doesn't have to' do anything. Grr
Thanks to his love of fairy tales, I have been called "evil and cruel." This morning he told me I was "breaking his heart" (which actually kind of made me laugh). He frequently tells me I'm not the boss or not in charge. Actually, kid, I am.

What I did with the stuff SIL gave us was ask her if she minded me donating it. If the people aren't close to you, I would give it to a charity that uses baby stuff.
Also I used the Monistate chaffing gel on my face today like some of you recommended. A-mazing! My face is usually oily by now in my t-zone. Barely anything today! I'm so excited.

We are there too. It isn't that often but when he does it I tell him not to talk back and he grunts "I'm NOT talking back".
Oh, and when I try to talk to him about something to correct his behavior, he puts his hand up towards my mouth and says "Don't talk to me, Mommy!".

I'm in a similar situation. I've been looking for bedding for months. I'm so torn. Where's this from? I need to look outside of PBK and Land of Nod...

I would say as long as you have some endurance, hot yoga is actually better for "beginners". The heat allows for greater flexibility...
It feels like we are never going to name our baby. I am stuck on Lennon and DH is stuck on Elliott. We keep trying to find another name that we can both agree on and it isn't working. We still have Quinn, Finnegan, Julian, Lincoln and Ellison on our list. And my dad is mad at me because I keep picking "weird names that confuse people about the gender of the kids." Ugh, shut up. I am a whiny bitch today. You'd think I'd be happier since I'm currently eating a PopTart.

FWIW, I LOVE Quinn. It's one of my favorite names, not too common, but people will never have trouble pronouncing it. And I think it sounds adorable with your other kids' names.

A friend of mine named her daugher Ellison and it such an amazing name for a little girl. I LOVE IT! I can't use it but if I could I would! My favorite right now. Just my 2 cents!
Obama is coming to speak at a commencement ceremony this week. The whole city is in an uproar: closing down roads, helicopters everywhere, security has been all over the place for almost a month. It's getting annoying.

I'd ask the giver if they want it back, otherwise you'd be happy to pay it forward to someone else.
I was assuming it was a gift not a hand-me-down. I wouldn't ask everyone at my baby shower if they wanted the gift back but if it was a hand-me-down I would ask if they wanted it back.

Ellis is on our boy list and I'm thinking of doing Mary Ellis (instead of Mary Alice) if we have a girl.

I am planning on taking L next week. I would think he would be fine.

Are they closing things down for more than the day? I understand small town being invaded uproar, but the SS needs to assume the worst and protect the President.

oh I get that. We aren't a small town though. Main roads in a big city is a nightmare for everyone. I'm excited for the exposure for our city and for the graduating class, I just wish we didn't have to deal with all these other inconveniences.

My brother graduated the same year as one of the Bush girls and George Bush was in town. They did a good job keeping things normal. I don't think he went to the ceremony though so that might have been more security. The only time I really noticed was a few areas of protesters and when I stepped out on the balcony at the Dean's reception and was flanked by secret service telling me to go back inside because the Bush's were all out on the balcony across the yard.
