Reintro and never say never (looking into IVF)...

Hi Ladies, 
I have been off the bump for a month or so, so I thought I would reintro and update. I am jaco0207 from Minnesota. My history is below, so I won't go into too much detail, but DH and I have been TTC for about a year and a half. We have tried a few cycles of medicated IUIs through an experienced OB group. I had said from the start that we would never, never do  IVF, too expensive etc., even though my clinic has been encouraging us to look into it due to our diagnosis and age. I have come to realize that this whole infertility journey is such a process for me. 
Long story short, I have not been responding well to oral drugs, and given the expense of injectables (we are 100% oop), something clicked at my last appointment and I talked to DH about looking into IVF. We now have an appointment with an RE in Minneapolis in July, and an IVF seminar later this month. We are going to focus on getting healthier, and of course keep trying natural cycles. Anyway I am going to stick with this board, and if all goes well, hopefully we will be trying IVF later this year. Thanks for all of the advice and support!
Me: 40, Hypothyroidism, well managed, TSH 1.99
DH: 44 Fine except for low morphology
TTC since 02/2013  
08/13: Day 3 tests (ESTRADIOL 20.8; AMH 1.1; FSH 6.2)
12/13 HSG, all clear
11/13-5/14 - IUIs #1-3, BFNs, 
6/14 to present: Taking a break, getting healthier, researching IVF
Planning for IVF in late summer 2015

    Welcome back! I think you're very brave to just be open to the idea and get some information about IVF! I hope the appointment is very informative and you walk away feeling better about things : ) good luck!

    Trying to have baby #1 since April 2013

    DH SA March,May 2014 - Low motility and shape issues. On vitamins per RE to help

    Me testing April 3, 2014 - FSH and LH good, HSG showed blocked right tube

    April 29, 2014 - First RE appt., right tube needs to be removed and possibly left also if

    it's bad too. RE suggests going straight to IVF

    June 4, 2014 - LAP/HSC and unexpected endo. removed but tubes got to stay!

    June 13, 2014 - Post-Op appointment. We decide where to go next since main issue

    is MFI influenced. Trying naturally until decision... Repeat SA  in September. Aiming for IUI #1 November 2014.

    Welcome back! I always said I'd never do a medicated cycle .... Until I did but then I said no way we would even do IVF because it's so expensive. Well I'm probably triggering tomorrow for ER on Thursday for my first IVF. I swear the fertility drugs make us do this. Hopefully you won't have to go that route but if you do good luck!

    Welcome back from yet another MN girl!  I think the progression of IF treatments eases us into acceptance of steps we never thought we'd take.  I'm glad you and your DH are on the same page and have a plan - that's always a huge help isn't it?  I also am planning on jumping from oral meds to IVF.  The cost of injectables is ridiculous when you're 100% OOP so I figure I might as well go the whole 9 yards.
