Going off the pill craziness - just a rant and my experience to share!

First month off the pill after many many moons on it, and I had no idea what to expect. Well, I did, sorta...my brief research said, AF may be a little late, but expect a monstrous bitch of a woman to show. They left out, you'll think you were magically the lucky one who got pregnant first month off the pill and have produced a honeymoon baby. They left out that about the time AF fails to show for her regularly scheduled appointment as she did on BC, how your boobs may grow overnight into these giant melons, you'll be so bloated you can't fit into any of your pants (yes, even the stretchy ones are tight!!), you'll be bitchy and moody, mildly crampy for weeks on and off, have odd discharges, headaches, maybe spot for a day lightly right about AF time so you can think that you're one of the few to have implantation bleeding, get nauseous on and off at random times, and best of all, get reallllllly gassy and disgust your new husband! Winner winner chicken dinner!!!

So all that to rant and say, hello, I'm pretty much a newbie, but have been enjoying reading many experiences all over this site and board...thanks to everyone for sharing so many experiences so we can all realize, our level of crazy is just relative haha!! Here's to 11 days "late" (I don't know my own body well post BC yet) and waiting and waiting and waiting for AF to rear her ugly head...sooner the better so we can move onto some more babymaking!

The WTO and TWW threads are generally the appropriate place to anthropomorphise your menses and anatomically compare yourself to fruit.

So...you're 11 days late, but make no mention of testing so...have you peed on a stick?

Everyone is different. Once I stopped taking the pill my AF was regular, every month like clockwork except for a few random months when it came a few days late, usually due to stress. I've heard it can take a few months for your body to revert to its natural cycle.Some people get pregnant right away, others it takes time. I have a friend who knew she was pregnant 6 DPO, and a girl I went to highschool with didn't know she was pregnant until she was close to 7 months. So just take your time, it can be a long ride because even if planned properly there's a 20% chance you can convenience every month. Good luck and congrats on your marriage!

Please read the newbie threads pinned at the top of this board and lurk more. Also, we recommend using Fertility Friend (a phone app, or a website in regular browsers) to chart your fertility monthly, and read Taking Charge of Your Fertility. When you're charting, you get a sense of how long your luteal phase (LP) is, and then based on LP and Ovulation date, you can predict your period. Fertility Friend also is full of information and tutorials within the app. Also, lurk the WTO and TWW threads. Once you get a sense of how those work, feel free to jump in there.

I think that covers the usual advice, yeh?
