I was curious if any FTM were planning to do anything special for the soon to be Daddies. I was thinking about getting a card and a cute Daddy Book that he can one day read to our little one.
I bought a cute handmade engraved keychain on etsy that said "DAD Est. 2014" and engraved "we love you" on the back. Also thinking of just planning something fun for the day, since he will likely feel neglected really soon.
I've written DH a nice letter, since Fathers Day this year also happens to be our first anniversary and buying two cards for the same day seemed weird, and I've put together a special bag of hospital goodies for him, including a Lil Critter book for him to read to Spencer and a Dad tshirt. I'm also still trying to get my hands on two 2014 pennies, so I can update the keychains I made for both of us for our wedding that have pennies from the year he was born, the year I was born, the year we met, and the year we got married on them.
I got my DH a pair of Daddy Scrubs--they say "I'm the Daddy" on the back, are comfy enough to bum around in, and are appropriate for the delivery room. I also got my dad a hammered silver keychain that says "grandpa est. 2014". Nothing extravagant, but I hope appropriate.
I'll be making his favorite breakfast and I bought a nice pocket knife and had it engraved with a bible verse he picked out for something else but really likes.
So basically a nice knife and the blade will be engraved "I have made you and I will carry you, I will sustain you and I will rescue you"
For holidays we usually prefer to get out of town but my unpredictable contractions and this pregnancy in general have made holidays gift giving ones for the time being. We'll go back to beach days and out of town adventures soon
I picked up a onesie for baby girl with DHs favorite football team logo on it and I'll get him a card. I'm debating whether or not I should do something to the onesie to make it "feminine" for Adelinde but probably not.
I booked DH a tee time to golf with another one of his dad friends. He golfs a lot as it is, so I usually give him a hard time for golfing on Sundays (the only day we both have off together), so I figured a guilt free Sunday golf morning would make him happy.
I wasn't planning in anything but he surprised me with a card and basket of my fav snacks/goodies. So I'm getting him a card and mix of specialty beers.
I got him daddy scrubs as well. And an awesome lady I know custom embroidered a onesie with DH's company logo (it means a lot to him) and LO's name. I'm giving both to him at our [coed] shower this Saturday
I don't think my husband has any idea its Father's Day on Sunday. I'm making us reservations for brunch but then we've got a ton of baby prep to do the rest of the day!
DH got me my l&d pajamas and a nice card. I, not meaning to overspend, am getting him a video camera, he has been insisting he needs one since I got pregnant.
I got him a card. That's all we're doing, Mother's Day and Father's Day are big deals in my family (we do our annual family photos and do a big event for my grandparents) so mother's day we were at my parents and he got me a card. For father's day we're all going to a tiger's game and I got him one. So the 'celebration' itself is really more of a group affair.
Also getting my hubby Daddy Scrubs for the big day. My Mom came across a cute little pillow with a little blurb about Daddies on it, so she got that for me to give him, too. I can't remember exactly what it says now, but it was cute.
Most of my Mother's Day gifts were toys that he will use more than me (video camera, tripod, stuff like that) so I feel I am being pretty generous.
I cried too when I first came across it. Unlike me my husband's not much into gift-giving, ecspecially for something like Mother's Day (when technically I'm not a mom yet). But I love giving gifts & I thought this would be a real sweet way to show my hubby how much I appreciate all he's done for me these past 8 months.
I got DH this book and a bunch of snacks and bottled drinks for the hospital so he doesn't have to run to the vending machine.
He liked the book by this same guy that is sort of a dad's guide to pregnancy, so I thought he would like this one too. I also wrote a nice note to him in a Father's Day card.

I am getting him "Experimenting with Babies" https://www.amazon.com/Experimenting-Babies-Amazing-Science-Projects-ebook/dp/B00BC21SYW/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1402352059&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=Experiemnting+with+babies
I got DH a video camera since it's LO related. He's being a huge nerd with it. He videoed the dog dancing last night. haha
"Do you know why we really celebrate Father's Day?"
Answer: "Because SOMEONE couldn't keep his hands to himself. I'm just saying."
He will die laughing.
My father apparently already got his father's day gift from my brother and me because my brother simply couldn't wait...we went halvsies.
