A heartbreaking farewell

Just a warning...if you haven't had a a/s yet, and are very nervous...don't read this...just don't. What happened to us is a freaky stroke of shit and pain, or so I've been told.
seriously go away if you don't want to be sad. I just needed to put this out there because I don't know what else to do, so I'm so sorry for this.
We were so happy, and thought that the dr was referring us to a follow up a/s because our little one was being stubborn and the technician couldn't get the readings she needed, but it turns out that they couldn't get the readings because there were parts of the anatomy that weren't there.
Our baby had no kidneys, no amniotic fluid, and therefore wouldn't have lungs, a condition incompatible with life. We found out that this is called potters syndrome / sequence and has a 1 in 4,000 to 30,000 chance of happening. We made the choice to go forth with a D and E procedure, as I didn't want the only experience my child has of this world to be of suffocation and terror.
I wish everyone here the best of luck, and no matter how frustrated you get, please be patient with yourselves and your beautiful pregnancies, and realize how lucky you are. I would kill to hold my child in my arms on October 25th, when we were due, and will unfortunately have to wait maybe forever. I don't know if I will ever be a mom because the grief is crippling, and once you have this condition, there is a 3% chance that it will happen again, and I don't know if it's ethical to proceed with that high of an odd, especially when you consider the m/c odds thrown in.
