This is a weekly thread for runners who are due in June 2014, that is posted on Mondays. All who run--or who want to start running--are welcome, regardless of mileage, pace, ability, size, shape, or terrestrial status. This is a place to talk about running while pregnant, training, runs, races, gear, recovery, nutrition, and whatever else we can think of.

Anyone who posts here regularly should feel free to start the thread on Mondays if it seems to be missing.

How were your runs and workouts this week?
What are your current running/exercise goals?

  • How were your runs and workouts this week?
I only got one run in last week - 3.2 miles on Sunday - but that will change this week because I'm on maternity leave and can actually get outside during the week before it gets too hot! I felt great after the run... took it slow (~11:45 pace) but it was hilly so my glutes are feeling it today!

What are your current running/exercise goals?
My current goals are to get out 3-4 times per week to walk or run. My mom goes for walks between 3 and 5 miles almost every day so we will be going out together a lot now that I'm home during the day!

GTKY: What's the running accessory you couldn't live without?
I'm a sucker for running "gear" so this is hard because there are a lot of things I would never want to go without! But if I had to pick one, probably my Garmin. I am obsessive about stats and stuff like that, and I take my Garmin watch out on every run or walk and track my progress online when I get home.

I have been taking the dog out on easy walks since 1 week PP.  I finally stopped bleeding and felt good enough to go on a run yesterday!!  I went very slow for 16 minutes and felt pretty good!  I will continue to do that a few times a week until I get stronger.  My lady parts are good, but my body is pretty sore from that!

What are your current running/exercise goals?
Just to get back into it a few days a week when I can.  It's too early and baby is too unpredictable to set any type of goal just yet!

I don't need too much gear, but I NEED a good pair of shoes and I do love my Garmin.

  • hi to everyone who is left on my favorite weekly thread!!

How were your runs and workouts this week?
i havent been able to run since week 38.5 so i am limited mostly to yoga. baby boy is still very low and resting on my pubic bone so even walking is tough these days. i have been feeling better so i hope to walk this baby out this week!!  once again, yoga is my best friend though.  gotta open up these hips and get ready :)
What are your current running/exercise goals?
currently, walk when i can and go to yoga when i can. i am 40+2 so i am more than ready to meet my lil man!
GTKY: What's the running accessory you couldn't live without?
besides good shoes, a good sports bra is a necessity i can't live without!!  i love my asics and moving comfort bras. when i have been cleared to exercise after birth, i am so excited to get a new pair of kicks and some new clothes so i feel my best and motivated.

  • How were your runs and workouts this week?
I ran 3 times total of 7 miles.  The runs felt great, and I wish I could have gotten out more, but with busy schedule I didn't make it!  Hoping to get about 3-4 runs this week and a lot of walking!  I also swam one day, which felt AMAZING!!!!

What are your current running/exercise goals?
My goals will be to keep moving until little one comes out (hopefully running)!  I'm ready to meet the little thing, but I know I shouldn't rush her out!

GTKY: What's the running accessory you couldn't live without?
Definitely shoes, love my HR monitor, and my ipod!!

  • @lola4411 @mease8 I plan on splurging on a Moving Comfort bra once baby arrives - right now I double up on basic bras and I doubt they'll cut it when I'm PP and BFing. I think I will probably buy a Juno but would love to know what worked for you ladies!

  • I've never joined this thread but came upon it and got excited and wanted to leave a note for all you. I have been a runner my whole life, but totally let it slip in the first trimester and never picked it back up. Hearing about all of you that are still running is inspiring. I hope to get back to running after LO makes his/her appearance and even to plan on keeping up training for my next pregnancy (should I be so lucky and whenever that is)!  Congrats and keep up the good work ladies!
  • @babygabe614 i have worn moving comfort bras for a while now and LOVE them!  i am 34D pre-pregnancy and they are by far the best supporting bra for running. i prefer the back closure ones because they are easier to get on and off.  i have the juno and fiona styles. sometimes you can find them at marshalls for a deal.  either way, they are totally worth it to get.
