We bought a "fixer upper" last fall and have been working on it as much as we can. One of the worst things about the house was the failing exterior paint....We started getting it re-painted this weekend (We are doing everything DIY). It is HARD work, thank god for H doing most of it while I watched 4 episodes of OITNB. :-\"
On Friday, I went to a big kids clothes consignment sale event - fill a bag for $5 or $12. I did the bigger bag, and am feeling like DS might be all set with baby clothes, now. It's amazing how much you can fit in a plastic grocery bag! Then we went to a birthday party for our 12 year old niece, which was nice.
Saturday, DD had swim class, and then we went to a huge first birthday bash for my cousin's daughter. It was not quite as overdone as I was expecting, but it was pretty ridic. DD had the time of her life with Mickey and Minnie, a bounce house and a candy buffet, though.
Sunday, we finished getting the vegetable garden planted and went grocery shopping. The highlight was probably that the place we went to buy the plants for the garden is also a working farm, so DD got to feed the pony and sheep and piglets, and the cow pasture is right alongside the greenhouse where you shop for plants and there was a cow hanging out about two feet away from where we were shopping, so staring at that kept DD occupied the entire time.
Mine was very productive, which was awesome because I've had zero energy. I got caught up on all of mine and FI's laundry, deep cleaned the whole house, got groceries, cooked for the week, and walked about 6 miles. I also finished season 2 of OITNB, so all in all it was great! FI left for work on Friday, but will be able to come home for our A/S on Wednesday. Then he is gone until the middle of July. I love having him at home, but it is so nice to have some time to myself.
Busy weekend... Friday went out to dinner for our 16th anniversary, Saturday drove 4 hours each way to go to my niece and nephews b day party, and Sunday night went to another niece's high school graduation.
Saturday DH and I met some friends at the Pittsburgh arts festival. Great weather and great company but damn I was sweating lol.
Sunday I bought a ton of maternity clothes! Tops at old navy and a few tops, a dress and a pair of supportive sandals at kohls! Love kohls bc I got $180 worth if stuff for $55! I get such a rush when I stack 20% off with Kohls cash and rewards points! It's like my favorite sport and I'm a professional! Lol
Sunday evening we cleaned most of the junk out of the nursery. Just have to take a few boxes down to my storage locker. Such a productive weekend!I
My mom and I did wayyyyy too much shopping for LO this weekend but it was SO FUN! Too many clothes, bunch of bibs, socks, and blankets. We really should have waited until the baby shower but we couldn't help ourselves! lol. Also ordered our crib and dresser and cleaned out baby's room (well almost done cleaning it). We have a few more random things that need to be moved out but we're about 90% done.

The highlight of my weekend was eating funnel cake. I guess that makes me boring!
If I'd had funnel cake this weekend, that might have outranked other several things! But I saw a few friends who haven't seen me in a while and surprised them with my bump, got in some shopping, got in a couple of great workouts, and managed to find the energy to do my household chores, so I'm happy with how it went, despite the lack of funnel cake.
I've been visiting family since Thursday and have had super limited phone reception so I've been missing my bump time. I went into town today for some writing and bumping. Baby girl is kicking and wiggling relentlessly! I am happy about it in light of being rear ended on Friday. We are both okay and that makes me extra thankful for her squirminess.
Today is a holiday here and DH finally doesn't need to work through the weekends now that the elections are over, so we had a nice long weekend of family time. Today we went for a picnic on the grounds of one of the big churches in town, and did quite a bit of packing for our move. For the first time in a long time I actually feel refreshed. I also took some pictures of DD for the first time in months!
I was in Texas from Wednesday through Sunday, and holy crap it is hot there. It gets hot in NY, but nothing like that. On the plus side, I had the best fried chicken I've ever had in my entire life.
Well DH took great care of me this weekend. I was finally able to have some energy to paint something for the nursery. I love it. I just need to paint 2 more before he gets here.

That's beautiful, seriously. Well worth the time it took you to make it. I didn't even know it was possible to bring a homemade quilt somewhere to have it quilted for you, either, but it seems like that was absolutely worth it. Thanks for sharing!

So, what did you paint?
I will have to post a picture. Too hard to describe. I just paint what comes to mind. I have the nursery in mind this next couple if paintings.
Here is the picture. We are going to go with yellow, gray, and white. We are going to have an artist come in to paint a couple of minions on the walls.
Hence the yellow and purple in the painting. Can not wait to paint more. I think it turned out a bit girly. But DH says it will be fine. I might try again and make it more manly since we are having a son.

We babysat DD's little BFF Saturday, then went to look at a car off of craigslist and this mama got a new (to me) ride!
Sunday we had friends over who are having #2 this Thursday (RCS). Can't wait to meet their little man!
