Past your due date? Check in here!

Hope you ladies don't mind but I thought I'd start a check-in for those of us with inside babies who are past their due date.  I know there are a few of us out there and it's getting rough and frustrating!  So here we go:

1) How far past your due date are you?
2) How are you feeling?
3) Are you trying anything to start labor?
4) When's your next appointment?
5) GTKY: Are you working?  What are you doing to pass the time?

  • 1) How far past your due date are you?  1 day
    2) How are you feeling? Feels like LO is punching me in the hip bone, hope this means he dropped.  I'm also a bit anxious and over analyze every new sensation.
    3) Are you trying anything to start labor? Not really, but DH likes to use it as an excuse to DTD
    4) When's your next appointment? Thurs.
    5) GTKY: Are you working?  What are you doing to pass the time? Still working. Not looking forward to going in to work today.  Also trying to clean the house in small increments.  I'm just too tired to do more than one thing at a time without a break.

  • 1) How far past your due date are you? 5 days
    2) How are you feeling? Tired and having hip pain, starting to be irritable and grumpy
    3) Are you trying anything to start labor? Not too much, take a few walks here and there and try my best to get it on with H.
    4) When's your next appointment? In one hour.
    5) GTKY: Are you working?  What are you doing to pass the time? I was planning on working up until the end, but ended up starting my leave on my due date when my hip pain got bad. My mom and sis are here for now to keep me company, help clean up the house, cook together, do artwork, play card games, etc.

Love that you started this thread. Up until my due date I was all for letting this baby come naturally. But somehow now that I'm almost a week past my due date and getting more and more uncomfortable, I'm feeling frustrated. I still don't want to be induced, but I feel like she's never going to come out if I don't. Also, my sister who is visiting was planning on being here for about a week before my due date to help get things ready, and then about a week after to have time to bond with her niece (she lives 6 hours away and won't get to see her again for quite some time). She's going to be going home this weekend, and I'm afraid she won't even get to be here when my baby is born if I continue to wait for her to come out on her own. My SIL who lives 4 hours away is in a similar situation, on vacation just for this week and was planning on coming out to meet the baby, won't get another chance for months....

sarahgene61887 - Are you kidding me?  You only wake up every 3 hours to pee?  I'm up every 1.5 - 2 hours max to pee.  And it's the kind of pee that I feel like I need to run to the bathroom but can barely make it out of my bed because my hips hurt and I have so much lightning crotch pain.  I'm lucky to make it to the toilet every time.

@LaurelJoy91 - Bummer about your sister/SIL.  I am sort of in the same boat.  One of my sisters is moving across the country on the 21st.  I was hoping that she would have a few weeks to come visit after work and what not, but unfortunately she will get just over a week and she's busy this coming weekend.  I have no idea when she will be back.  Likely Christmas.

    Edit to Add:

@whoberry - Why are you still working?  Can't you get a doctors note to stop?  I totally would if I were you!!!

  • 1) How far past your due date are you? 2 days
    2) How are you feeling?Surprisingly okay but a bit sore and I am really tired of having so much cramping and contractions. I keep reminding myself that they are good prep work though.
    3) Are you trying anything to start labor? I think I have done almost everything although no castor oil.
    4) When's your next appointment? Thursday
    5) GTKY: Are you working?  What are you doing to pass the time? No I have been on vacation since mid April. My official year of mat leave starts today. I have two LOs already, although they are in school so I have the days to myself. I have done lots of stuff around the house and kept things clean and ready for when baby comes. I have a ton of hobbies too so I have enjoyed spending some time on those things. And my freezer is full of freezer meals.

  • @laureljoy91 I am not as far past my due date as you are but I had a really crappy day last week and I just kept thinking "give me an epidural and get this thing out of me!" even though I really want to try to go med free.  Some days are just more frustrating than others, at least for me.  I hate not knowing when it's going to happen!  It sucks that your sister might be gone too.

@crhein26 Fortunately my work is somewhat flexible, so if I can't handle being at the office I will probably just work from home.  It's getting harder to sit at my desk chair all day but I think I would be bored out of my mind at home, or I would overdo it with housecleaning. I did get really annoyed this morning when I had to put on a bra and shoes though!

    1) How far past your due date are you?  5 or 6 days
    2) How are you feeling?  Physically really good.  Baby's movements are painful at times, that is my biggest complaint.

    4) When's your next appointment? tomorrow a.m.
    5) GTKY: Are you working?  What are you doing to pass the time? Yep, I am still working.  I feel fine and life goes on, I've been trying to keep as busy as possible- lots of walks, errands, cleaning, yard work, taking the kids out and about, etc.

  • 1) How far past your due date are you? 5 days
    2) How are you feeling? Pretty decent, just a little anxious.
    3) Are you trying anything to start labor? Lots of walking (at least I'm getting exercise) and raspberry tea.
    4) When's your next appointment? I had the N/S test this morning, everything looked good, we're choosing to do it again on Wednesday to make sure baby is still doing well. Friday is my next doctor's appt, at that point they will make a decision if this will be a C-section. They don't want to induce because LO is in a transverse position. Still holding out hope baby will slide into a head down position and we can do this the old fashion way :-)
    5) GTKY: Are you working?  What are you doing to pass the time? My last day was our due date the 4th... I kinda was hoping to have Baby by this point. Luckily the way my work schedule is though, my next day of work wouldn't be till the 10th so technically I'm not burning any FMLA time right now (thankfully). I pass my time by getting things done around the house, working on my future SIL's wedding shower and just relaxing with my hubby and our pup. Also kinda trying to do things that I know I won't be able to do for a few weeks if we have to have a c-section.

Stay strong ladies :-D @whoberry thank you so much for posting this. I've been lurking for like a week now wondering, who else has gone past!
  • 1) How far past your due date are you? 9 days
    2) How are you feeling? - very bored. But feel fine, still no contractions.
    3) Are you trying anything to start labor? No. I've been told I'm not induceable, and I have a C-sec scheduled for Thurs. AM. Unless I start having contractions or my water breaks before, but it will still be via CS.
    4) When's your next appointment? Tomorrow at 3 for final OB exam than pre-op stuff at the hospital.
    5) GTKY: Are you working? Hardly. What are you doing to pass the time? Went on the boat Saturday, binged watched Nip/Tuck all day yesterday. Gonna run some errands and motivate to clean the house one last time today. Then more Nip/Tuck while hubs is at work! He's says this is worse than a crack addiction, but on the plus side I feel confident that I can run my own surgery now! JK.

Thanks so much for this board. I was more active earlier on, but have been lurking/stalking the past few weeks/months. I was excited to see this board and needed to read others longer than expected journeys.
Although I am not impatient about her arrival, I have become very impatient and frustrated with my bodies lack of response over the past few weeks. Everything is the same from my 35 week appointment (measurement, bump height, cervical checks)...I am starting to feel like it forgot it was pregnant and or changed it's mind to just keep LO in there.
Any other ladies, who has a discouragingly high cervix still?

    1) How far past your due date are you?  Hit 41 weeks today.
    2) How are you feeling? Frustrated. Since 36 weeks, Dr has been suggesting that it is likely my body won't go into labor on it own, due to a very high cervix...so at 40 weeks to hear that it is still very high (dr has a hard time even reaching it to check) with no actual progress or potentional labor signs, is frustrating.
    3) Are you trying anything to start labor? Sure. Since 36 weeks, I walk a lot, bounce on a ball some, take evening prim rose oil, and sex. Since 39 weeks, I have upped my dosage of prim rose oil, walking, bouncing, and sex.
    4) When's your next appointment? Tomorrow at 8 am for NST and then 9:20 am for dr. I am expecting the same...no progress and more talk about induction ---which I really don't want. I truly feel that if my body isn't ready enough to start on it's own, it will end up in a c-section. My mom and sister have similar stories...I was just *hoping* it would work out differently for me. But I will try an induction over c-section, first...just to see.
    5) GTKY: Are you working? Yes and no. I am still at work but they are super flexible. It is really hard to come in and sit at a desk when I thought I would be with my LO by now.
