DIY birthday decorations

I have a dumb question. I ordered a frozen pennant banner off of etsy and had it printed on card stock. How does one string it together? We will be transporting it to a ceramic painting venue, so I want to make sure it doesn't fall apart. Do I hole punch the corners? Go along the back? Real ribbon or the gift wrap stuff?

Tell me your ways!

(Yes, I know I'm overthinking this.)

  • We have one hanging in our loft and I make one for every birthday party. I am obsessed. The shiny curling ribbon in the gift section works well with pennant banners. I hole punch the top left and right corners of each flag, and then thread the ribbon through. Be sure to run the ribbon behind the flag, so really the only ribbon showing is in between each flag. Does that make sense? Then I leave enough ribbon hanging down on either side, that's curled, which looks super cute. There are lots of fun colors you can use too.

OR you could always use a thicker fabric ribbon (lace or sparkly) and hot glue it along the top front of each flag and connect them in a row. This is more tedious and is more necessary for fabric bunting and pennants. Or really you sew those. For cardstock I would stick to ribbon.

    Have fun!! :)
