I will have 8 weeks of sick leave saved up by then. But I will probably end up taking 4 weeks off, and then working part time for the next 4-6 weeks. I dont know about any other benefits because im not ready to discuss it with HR yet (Tiny office word would get out!)
Me: 34 DH: 28. Married Jan 2012. Started TTC Jan 2014. Got our first BFP April 28th. Baby Boy Born: December 24 2014
We get 6 weeks paid and upto 5 years unpaid. I'm taking the whole 5 years. Paying for daycare will take my whole months salary. I also just really want to be home and am hating teaching and where it is going. This is my 12th and hopefully last year. I'm hoping to find something else after the five years.
I'll get 8 weeks for my c-section. I get paid, I want to say 65% of my pay while I am out. I only get paid once a month anyway, so it will be two months of a short check, but it will be ok. I'll have baby in January. Be out all of February and March. Then I only have two months of work left before three months off for summer. I can handle that.

I believe I get 12 weeks and then FMLA. I REALLY wish I could use FMLA or something in the next couple of months to get through first trimester. Im so sick and can't do my job... I work outside and managea ropes course. Being outside in the heat just makes me want to throw up and curl up.... I think about quitting constantly.... sigh.... sorry for the rant
I own my own business and will need to be back in action at least somewhat pretty quickly. This year was the first year since my honeymoon in 2004 that I was able to take a vacation without having to check in (and that was only a week). My plan is to take 2 weeks uninterrupted and then I'll start to work from home as needed. I should be back in the office at least part time by 4-6 weeks.
It's the same for me! I'm so nervous about this part of things. DH has a bunch of sick time with his job too...so he and I will need to have a real conversation about this. I would LOVE to be able to stay home with the baby...but it's not as easy when I still have to keep the business moving!
Anyone else with this kind of problem? I'd love to hear plans!

Re: Maternity leave
You obviously made it to
home, congrats! Your baby
is the size of a baseball.
I'm a teacher, but I qualify for FLMA and am tenured, so I will take 12 weeks
