  • On the smoking thing, an acquaintance of mine was pregnant a few months ago and smoked like a chimney (read: multiple packs a day) and ate nothing but junk (donuts, chips and mountain dews).  SO kept telling them (she and her fiancee, he works with her fiancee, we know her through him) that she needs to quit smoking and eat better and she said the same thing: "Well, I quit for my oldest and he has bad allergies and all of my other kids are fine and I smoked through their pregnancies."

I think smoking is a horrible habit, pregnant or not, but I thought that I read somewhere last pregnancy that it's actually harder on the baby and the mother for a heavy smoker to quit cold turkey than to cut back and keep smoking.  I didn't follow up on it and do my usual deep research, though, because I don't smoke so it didn't apply to me.

So mine is it's super warm today, I want to wear a skirt, but i haven't shaved my legs in over a month. Seriously it's rivaling my husbands. It's just such a pain in the ass. I'm lazy i don't want to do it. Do people really look and notice those things?

    So what if they do?

(but FTR I haven't worn skirts yet either, just keep planning on picking up some wax & self tanner...)

aaaaaand congrats @Ineedmorecoffee‌ I'm sure you'll still look stunning!
  • I'm due towards the beginning of November, but due to several factors, my anatomy scan won't be until 20w3d, and I'm kind of jealous of all the women who will be finding out sooner that their little ones are healthy/what sex the babies are. I just have to suck it up though, since it was important to me that my husband be there, and three weeks from now is the best opportunity for that.
@SweetMelissa5 I think we're due on the same day and my A/S isn't until the 25th, right around 20 wks, and the anticipation is killing me!

I'm getting married tomorrow. (Yes I have referred to my spouse as DH but it's just an internet habit)

Anyways I am breaking out like crazy and it's making me so upset that I wish it was not tomorrow. I am blaming my pregnancy hormones. It still sucks so bad.
I was majorly broken out on my wedding day from all the stress. Heavy makeup and photoshop are lifesavers, and when I look back I never even think about it! Congratulations on your wedding, enjoy the day!
Ahhh that makes me feel better. I am dumb, but I totally googled to see if anyone had had a major breakout on their wedding just so I didn't feel like I was the only one! Lol. I didn't find much, so this has helped. :) I do plan on telling my photographer to photoshop the shit outta my face.

  • I have SO's password and he has mine. We are both notorious for forgetting to set alarms so half the time we do it for each other. Plus, when I run out of lives in a game on my phone I'll just play on his. ;)
Ah yes, there was a time I had Candy Crush on my husband's phone.  I got over that game finally.

  • My FFFC - DH and I have always agreed on two kids and done but the past month or so I'm having serious second thoughts, I can't commit to the idea of a permanent birth control but haven't told him yet because I know he's completely sure.

  • I get so irritated looking at baby clothes. I cannot stand sifting through 99% crap (imo) to hopefully maybe find something that isn't ridiculous. Why can't newborns just have soft, simple sleepers? I don't see the point of scratchy emblems, stiff tags, and syrupy sweet prints, especially with matching elastic headbands and Velcro bows. Yuck!
It's all fine & dandy if you're into that kind of stuff - I don't judge - but I'd just like it if there was a section or store just for boring, plain-jane, practical people.
To continue to my somewhat related second confession (sorry!)... I don't want a baby shower. We're getting so many hand-me-downs that our necessities are covered, I don't have a lot of friends (and don't particularly care for some of the ones I do have), I can't stand to be the center of attention, and really really really don't wanna even try to feign oohs & aahs through a fake smile while opening silly frilly aforementioned outfits.
Antisocial party pooper? No doubt. Ungrateful even? Perhaps. But I can't help it.

I feel this way, too. Especially with boy clothes. Why do all boy shirts have to have an annoying truck or baseball on it? If someone invented an affordable, basic kids clothing line they would make a KILLING.

I've had really good luck at major dept stores like Macy's, Nordstrom's, Belk etc. it does cost more but personally I don't like all the hot pink, cheetah, zebra, diva, princess that goes on with girls ( same for boys), and I found many plain light pastel colors in nice soft cotton material.

Macy's & Elder-Beerman are two of the worst offenders here. EB not quite as much just bc they have a huuuuuuuge selection. I've actually had the most luck at discount stores like TJMaxx.

I actually love the smell of pot. I don't smoke it myself, but I've been around it at concerts and such, and I think it smells good.
The smell makes me want to hurl and I smell it daily at work, I hate being around it so much.

  • Confession:

I get pissed off when people say they "just thought I had too much to eat today for a skinny person" my bump is fucking round with my outie belly button hanging out! I finally look pregnant and you thought I ate a lot?
Well, that confirms my suspicion that I just look like a chunk in public at this point :-<

    There will come a time...
  • @Ineedmorecoffee‌ of it makes you feel better, I got a monster zit between my nose and lip somewhere between my ceremony and reception. I didn't even know until I went to the bathroom after some dancing and saw this massive bomb staring at me. It happens! Hopefully you have some good makeup and like people have said, there's always photoshop. Your outlook is the best though, it's all worth it!

Oh to have someone tell me that...that would mean they'd think I was skinny!!!!!  ;)

Here's my confession: I don't want my kids to play with one of our neighbor's kids. They are scummy people, the parents don't "parent", the kids are a mess and have zero respect for anybody or anything. And I will not allow my kids to go in their house, there's always different random questionable characters there, we never know who exactly is living there.

Our other 3 neighbor families with kids I really like and DS plays with their kids.

This is similar to the neighbor across the street. Her kids are NEVER supervised. Her 2 year old daughter ran around outside all day yesterday with just a diaper on. (Until 8pm!) It's ridiculous. She has her 11 year old parenting her children and she's a nasty person in general. My kids know they are to not play with them. And you know what else? The poor kids attitudes are horrible because of the way they've been raised so I personally don't want my kids around them anyway.
