DH started calling it "Merl" after the first u/s we had at 7 weeks. He said it looked like a fat bald old man But now I'm trying out more specific nicknames relevant to possible final names. So I'm calling him my little Bumble Bee or just Bee these days. Bee is very active, and it seems like he putters around in there a lot so it fits.

I call my baby Nemo. It started out as a joke when we were trying to get pregnant. I would tell my husband's "boys" to just keep swimming... We tried for a long time and ended up going via IVF and through it all I just kept saying just keep swimming. When we got the news that it worked I said "I found NEMO!" and then it stuck. I am so hooked on the Nemo thing now that we are doing the nursery with nemo. I have no idea what her name will be once she's born, but while she's in my tummy she is Nemo.
We call ours "Buddy" We told our our 2 year old niece that her cousin was in my belly, so now when we see her points to my belly and says "that's my buddy!" We love it!!
Phoenix. We call this baby Phoenix. It is sort of a joke because my brother was strongly pulling for Phoenix or Memphis if DD had been a boy (not options we considered!) so we joked that this baby would be Phoenix. Well, it stuck and now LO is only Phoenix!
The Freeloader. Though, really that's only me and usually when he's sitting on my bladder. DH doesn't really have a nickname for him, though did think he looked like a squid after our first ultra sound.
HAHA!! Actually I should amend mine too b/c when he's doing his strange hand-dragging thing I call him "The Creeper".

Meatball, as spaghetti and meatballs were one of the few foods that I didn't have an aversion to in the first Tri. And hell, because my bump looks like one.
The more weight I gain, I feel like a meatball all over.
Nick junior. We don't even know if it is a boy, although h is pulling for it. He is Nick, and was teased as a kid for the tv channel/programming of nick jr. As a joke that is what we call the baby.

OMG a homemade meatball sandwich sounds so good! Thanks a lot! lol
I don't really say much about this baby with a nn yet. I don't know why really because we used a lot of different names for ds. One of which was bug/buggy and I still call him that sometimes.
DS was jelly bean or bean. I started out calling this baby nugget but my sister didn't like that because it reminded her of chicken nuggets. So we renamed it baby t-Rex.
Baby Brother. With DD, we called her Baby Girl the whole time (she didn't have a name until a few hours after she was born). Now, DD talks about her baby brother all the time, and so we've all just kind of adopted that name.
@suprsuz I wasn't sure if you were going to name her Nemo for real and I didn't want to upset you by asking. I was thinking it was an interesting choice for a girl and wanted to know if it was after the Disney character or the psychotic captain of the Nautilus....
@DreadGamerWife that's funny and so appropriate especially in the beginning! Clever husband.
We have been calling him Pop Tart since I found out I was pregnant. I didn't want to say the word "baby" and decided on Pop Tart because it was the first box I spotted in the pantry after I took the test. Our friends and families have started calling him Pop Tatt, too.
We've just been calling the baby "bebe." Next week during my anatomy scan we will hopefully confirm the sex, and then call the baby his/her name. An early ultrasound (14w4d) showed a boy, but I won't believe it until it's confirmed by my doctor. If so, his name will be John and I'm going to have a hard time not calling him "Lil John" like the rapper. My future BIL is named John so it just fits haha
@theotherjacobsons No I wouldn't name my baby Nemo. I looked to see if it had a meaning just for fun, and it is in the boys list. from what I found it means "nobody". So yeah, even if I had been interested in using that name I could never name my child Nobody! lol. It's just her name for now. I even refer to her as the fish. but I promise I would not really name her after a fish.
We still mostly refer to her as "the baby". We're not 100% set on the name so it feels weird using it. DH will say "it" and I'm all "it's a SHE!" But even saying "she" feels strange since we're used to boys and we both still can't believe that we're having a girl.
DS was jelly bean or bean. I started out calling this baby nugget but my sister didn't like that because it reminded her of chicken nuggets. So we renamed it baby t-Rex.
At our A/S Tuesday, the tech said that the babies's arms are short, like a T-Rex. Hubz decided that was going to be his NN until we decided on a name.

The Fox. This name is modified weekly to be an adjective the fruit of the week....such as Foxy Banana. Since I started feeling kicks and tickling at about 14 weeks we also call the baby dancy or kicky fox.
DS was jelly bean or bean. I started out calling this baby nugget but my sister didn't like that because it reminded her of chicken nuggets. So we renamed it baby t-Rex.
We did Boop for a while. DS poked my tummy and said, "Boop!" I thought he was making a sound affect, but he just thought my tummy was squishy like my boobs.
I never like the idea of a nn for the baby and most of the time I call it the baby, but over Easter, we shared our boy name with my parents and we were putting it together with various middle names and my Dad jokingly suggested Egbert. So now we call it Eggy.
Started as Bean....when she was a poppy seed sized being, that seemed fitting. When she grew I felt it wasn't a great name anymore. So for a while she was "stinker" or the "baby" Now she is a she. And she is called by her name.
