@CL8badB - M started taking longer and more frequent naps just before she started walking. We have since adjusted back to 2 naps, but they are still longer than they used to be. I think as her level of physical activity has increased she needed more sleep.
@subliminalrabbit - I would probably take the same approach. As long as E's ok, I'd be happier knowing my kid was the bitee and not the biter.
Drive an hour to visit my mom with LO today. He refused to nap before we left and then fell asleep in the car 4 minutes before we got to her house and woke up when the car stopped. He totally refused to nap for the whole visit, but luckily passed out in the car on the way home. Now I am stuck in the car in our driveway because he's still asleep. I have to pee. There's also a slice of cheesecake from my mom calling my name, but it's wrapped up in a noisy bag in the backseat and I don't have a fork. I'm having an inner struggle about whether it's with the risk to try to get it and eat it with my fingers. Klassy.
I had an AWESOME interview. I am a second on Saturday! I am the front runner! (she told me). This is just what I have been looking for. Woot! Now 28 minutes more of work and then The Monkees!
How do you entertain 8th graders for the last 3 weeks of school???? I've been doing this for 10 years but I still haven't been able to do this successfully!
We just got an invitation for a baby shower next weekend. It's their second kid, they are throwing it themselves and they've already been given a TON of new girl stuff with tags still, from her sister in law. (I'm closer to the sister in law but are friends with both) it just seems greedy to me since they registered for stuff they should already have. Their ds just turned one last month, how do you not have a baby bathtub?? Sorry so long
I just saw that someone I know on FB is asking people to send her their addresses for her baby shower. This is her 5th kid in 7 years, besides clothes (she's finally having a girl) what else could she need?
DH just got home from a business trip and poured me a huuuuge glass of honey whiskey (which reminds me of @gigglejiggle - where is she these days??). And we did a jager shot. Methinks I may regret this tomorrow. Or when LO wakes up in the MOTN. Better have some serious water chasers ...
Despite that, I guess I'll have to sit and read Dark Places until I finish my whiskey before I can go to bed.
Which is kind of a good thing, because it's due back to the library tomorrow, and I seriously need to know what happens in this book! You all should go read it ... and join the June13 goodreads book club. @subliminalrabbit has the right idea! :-D
Maybe we should find a place to host a chat so we can drink wine together and discuss things like I've heard other book clubs do?
@majwv8 I can relate. We finally settled on ours two months ago (g is 3!) and many tears were shed in the process. My sisters don't live in mass. And I was adamant my closest sister who lives in NYC gets custody. DH wanted one of his friends because they are "like brothers" (he's an only child) and he wants our boys to stay local (and his friends are all townies who never left). I won that argument with the blood before bros talk. It would be harder if we both had siblings though. Did you talk with the other parties? They might self select. Finanaces was also a big part of the equation for us.
So I mentioned that DH just got back in town - this is in my pantry now ...
As DH tried to steal my cookies while I was eating some, I had to explain to him that I was just helping his weight loss goals by eating all the cookies.
Good question @majwv8. I have no idea. I think so much depends on what the photo is and who will see it. A bath time photo at age 4 that is in the family photo album... Probably ok. For any other audiences, I'm thinking soonish... (Like within a year). But I'm kind of conservative, so I could be wrong.
I would say once they are potty trained. So 2ish. But I agree bath time photos are fine until Elementary school age. ETA: I try not to post any pictures without clothes on of LO
@itsStackie - I'm of the same mentality. On the internet I don't post shirtless ones (except the one yesterday of@itsStackie - I'm of the same mentality. On the internet I don't post shirtless ones (except the one yesterday of her making a finger painting masterpiece... Whoops) but we have a shared photostream with the family and it's full of shirtless photos. It's hard to get a clothed photo of M these days unless it's staged. The girl hates wearing clothes! her making a finger painting maste
We usually use cloth diapers, but DH is watching M all weekend and I don't think he can be trusted to properly rinse the dirties so I bought I big box of diapers for him to use, and also for when we go on vacation this summer since I won't have laundry access. I have a bunch of Huggies rewards codes from this and the couple packs of wipes I got too. Does anyone want them?
ETA: I'm in canada. Does anyone know if the codes are good on either side of the border? If not, then i can only send to a fellow Canadian mama...
@nursemommy13 I HATED the Mirena. I ended up with pretty much every freaking side effect you can have. Including the God awful acne. Once I had it removed, everything started getting better, including that. Ditch the devil IUD.

Can we discuss this? (de-lurking, so sorry to all the birthdays I haven't mentioned!) What do you use now tiffletons? I cannot lose weight to save my life, like seriously, I have to not eat anything to see the scale budge, and I am definitely moody/hormonal, it's controllable, but barely. I've been debating taking it out but I love the fact that I don't have to worry about getting KU

I am now on Kariva. I'm sure it's generic for something. I'm annoyed that I have to be on anything considering we got H fixed when I was pregnant with Max. But, my body hates me. I have to be on a really low estrogen level bc because I apparently more than produce enough on my own. I was having the same problem that I was busting tail and being good with my diet and the scale would not move. I was a hormonal mess. I was having fierce night sweats and hot flashes. Things are better now with what I'm on. It's only been a month and a half. Hopefully it lasts! I am team remove the Mirena though. Every person I've ever known IRL to have it, has hated it as much as I did.
@tiffletons518 I'm so glad you have found something that works. I have always hated oral contraception because I'm terrible at remembering to take the pill, but now that my life has slowed down and is pretty routine I don't think it would be as much of a problem. About 2 weeks ago (during my mini-bumpcation) I got really low and I've been trying to make small changes to take back control of my emotions and stuff but it takes a LOT of work and I don't think it should be this hard to be happy, because my life is awesome, ya know? That's it, I'm making the call today...
I've given up with trying to control my acne. I'm going to never get rid of it completely. My mom still gets pimples and she's in her late 50's. And no I'm not pregnant! My doctor warned me that the mirena may not control my acne as well as regular BCP.
My mom does too and she's almost 70! She likes to say it's her youthful complexion she doesn't have one wrinkle! I'm in the broken out from Mirena club. Boo
Note to self: if you have a porter, pork and beans and bowl of kashi before bed and then try and go for a hard 4 mile run at 6 am make sure your have a bathroom halfway. That was a tense last mile for my sphincter. You're welcome for the TMI!

@wasnotwas Make the call. Seriously. That's exactly where I was. My H would come home everyday and tell me, "Smile. Please." I knew I was hormonal and blah, but I didn't realize that I was apparently no longer putting on a fake game face anymore. It's gotten much better. I set an alarm on my phone so I remember to take it. As my hormones have balanced out it has made a huge difference.

That's the best way to explain it, like I feel so disconnected from my family and I can see myself doing it so I feel silly.
We're supposed to get some more bad storms today. Hopefully we don't have to hang out in the basement. I love the rain but hate it at the same time because Grayson can't go outside to play.
I like the onesie @majwv8 ... I also think it would be cute with a black onesie (extra points for spaghetti strap) if you could find one. Sometimes white can wash them out in pictures
Ooh! I like this idea. I think the plain onesie looks a little unfinished, but I think topless photos aren't as easy to display for as long (I remember getting embarrassed about them being around the house once I was in school.)
A few weeks ago, I asked everyone which bday invite to do, but DH found one he likes more so we went with it-there's only a few things he's chimed in on for Js bday so I'm taking that when I can get it. They came in today and look great I think.
@daffy2k I'm in Canada and I'll take the rewards if no one else has wanted them. I buy pampers diapers and Huggins wipes. I've already gotten a melissa and Doug puzzle from pampers but Huggins takes a lifetime to collect enough points.
My mom is staying with us this week and she packed my lunch this morning. I didn't stop her. Yummy mashed potatoes with butter, veggies and some meatloaf is so much butter than a frozen dinner with a ten calorie jello.
