molars coming in--4 at a time :( help!

dd has been a trooper with all of her other 8 teeth she already has.  However, oragel and motrin don't seem to be cutting it for these bad boys...her gums are SO swollen.

What are these teething tablet things?  Do they help?  How do they work?

Re: molars coming in--4 at a time :( help!

  • I never tried the teething tablets, so I can't help there.

DD did get all 4 of her molars at the same time too - it sucked!  I kept giving her motrin and orajel and also a cold washcloth.  she seemed to like the washcloth better b/c she could get it back to her molars.

  • They've begun poking through on 2 sides.  Tried the washcloth and she didn't seem to like it.  We'll try again in the morning.  Plus she had her 12 month shots today too.   It wasn't a pleasant evening here tonight.
  • oh, poor you and her!  I hope she gets through it quickly since it doesn't sound like it's going to be easy!
  • Mikey had 3 come in at the same time. Motrin worked for us but you might want to alternate Motrin and Tylenol if she's that uncomfortable (kinda like you do when they have a fever). I also gave him cold teething rings which he LOVED when his molars were coming in. And cold applesauce is GREAT too. Teething tablets never worked for us though.
