Hi all! Baseline for me was yesterday and I started ganirelix and estrace for the FET. Lining check isn't until Friday the 13th (eep). So far, already hating the hormones.

QOTD: ICE CREAM. All the way. Not sure how else to cool down!

Hello from Day 10 of stims. Pretty sure I'm not acting like myself today, but at least I *feel* like I'm holding it together and DH is humoring me. My ovaries did a good job over the weekend and I had the most measurable follicles I've ever had this morning plus a few waiting in the wings. What's odd is that I have the least discomfort of any cycle and yet the most follicles. Odd! I'm back on the upswing of the IVF roller coaster, and I'll take it. It looks like I'll trigger tomorrow for ER Friday.

QOTD: Generally I love to kayak to beat the heat but since that's not happening while cycling I'll say... Italian ices!

Yay for first June check in! This means we have to be getting closer!

Not much to report over here. On lupron and estrace, slowly working towards FET #1. I have an appointment this Friday to check in on how things are going, so maybe I'll have more of an update then.

I would probably say a cocktail by the pool... but that is not cycling friendly

Hi everyone!

@gnl42 - I feel you, girl. These FET schedules are SLOW.

I'm on 4 vivelle patches EOD, lovenox, baby aspirin, and 5 units Lupron. With luck, tonight is my last dose of Lupron.

I had blood work for P4 and E2 this AM, and I have a lining check this evening. FX we're ready to move forward with progesterone!

QOTD: hmmm... I assume we're not talking practical cool-down measures, but fun measures? I'd say going to the movies. It's always cold and dark there

Hello! Day 4 of stims, and I'm anxious for my second monitoring appt tomorrow. Yesterday they saw 7-10 follies, which is a much better start than the 2-3 they saw at my first appt on our failed IVF round. But I feel like at the second appt, I will get a better idea of how things are going.

We have no shame...when we got our house 3 years ago, we were bummed to no longer have a pool. So I invested in two $3.99 kiddie pools that we enjoy in the back yard.

Hi Ladies!

I'm on day six of stimming (I can't believe it is going by so fast!) My estrogen was low normal when they tested on Sunday (I'm waiting for my results from this morning) and my follicles are growing slowly, according to my RE, who came in for my U/S this morning. However, he said that he wasn't worried because he was hoping that they would grow more evenly so we would have more to work with. Apparently there's between 6-8 measurable follicles. Of course, I'm hoping to have more, so fingers crossed that the meds do their job!

I added Prednisone this morning. I'm hoping I won't have any special side-effects from it. Not feeling too bad from the Gonal-F and Menopur right now, but the lovely bloating has arrived

QOTD: My favorite way to cool down in the heat and humidity (stupid DC weather!) is in an outdoor pool! I'm super excited that we are going to a water park over 4th of July weekend, because I intend to spend lots of time in the lazy river.

QOTD: We have to go to the pool. Our apartment has a really cold pool. If we get the house that we are trying for, the complex has a pool as well. I think my hubby was a fish in previous life.

I am on day 11 of stims. Yesterdays appt showed 24 measurable follies and an e2 of 2600. The doctor believes I am well on my way to OHSS. I will be taking out Lupron tonight and adding Cetrotide and taking what I hope are my last doses of Menopure and GF. Tomorow is another u/s and blood work. I am so hopeful these follies are close to mature and we can schedule ER Friday or Saturday (depending if I have to coast or not). We are prepared for a freeze all.

While my ovaries are certainly uncomfortable, it hasn't been terrible. The worst has been the nausea, vomiting, exhaustion and overall just feeling like shit. I am so ready for this to be over, although I know I still have quite a ways to go. And the anxiety has been a fun element, too. I have obviously continued my pity party from the weekend...

QOTD- we love being on the lake near here and just floating with a cold beverage

ETA- I can't count my stim days!

I had my ER on Sunday and got my fertilization report yesterday. And then I promptly lost my shit at work. Of 12 retrieved, only 7 were mature and 4 fertilized normally. Those numbers felt really low to me... I spent all day today (Tuesday) holding my breath until I just got the call- all 4 are still kickin! I'm set for a day 5 transfer on Friday.

QOTD: Is sitting in the air conditioning an acceptable answer? I sweat easily and am kind of a princess about it, so I just... avoid getting hot.

@sweetpotato123 - Yikes! So sorry you're feeling so awful. I didn't know an E2 that low would yield OHSS! Wonderful that it looks like you'll get such a good retrieval!

I had my first monitoring at the fancypants clinic, and it was an ORDEAL getting back and forth. I think tomorrow I'm going to just drive--yes, they want me back tomorrow--even though that means Manhattan rush hour. Couldn't be much worse than today. I'm getting to the scariest part of the cycle for me, when everything usually comes crashing down, so I'm glad they want to monitor me closely. So far so good--I went from 11/12 baseline follies to 20+ today, so trying to feel hopeful. Starting to feel pretty uncomfortable, too.

QOTD: BEER! This is why I asked you ladies--I need other ideas! ;-) Perhaps I'll get a kiddie pool when I'm back at home.

Just a few more days of BCPs until stims start! Not that my insurance company has sent my meds or anything, buuuut whatever.

Frog Togs are the best. We love hiking but I'm prone to overheating quickly, and a Frog Tog around my neck makes summer hiking doable.

Hi ladies,

If you didn't see a post I made yesterday, I had to trigger at 3am this morning for ER tomorrow afternoon. My E2 had jumped by more than double in 48 hours (had previously been on steady raise) and my progesterone is now over 1 so there is talk of having to do a freeze all and do FET, but we won't know until tomorrow. SIGH, same thing happened with IVF#1 so I'm able to better roll with the punches but still sad (esp since I took time off work expecting a 3dt which we discussed after my wtf from my m/c). Oh well, trying to be calm and collected about this cycle as it's our last fresh IVF so it is what it is and I can't change anything so...eh. ER isn't until 1:30 CST so I'll be out of it most all afternoon.

ETA QOTD: I'd say my favorite way to beat the heat is either a iced Frap from Starbucks or a big old margaritta depending on time of day.

@pblge- they think because my e2 jumped from 900 Saturday to 2600 Monday, and the # of follicles I may be more prone (PCOSer here). We'll see what tomorrow's numbers look like, but I would LOVE to avoid it and do a fresh transfer

Hi, may I join you ladies? I am getting ready for IVF #5.2, still trying for Baby #1.
I'm currently on a supplement cocktail that includes CoQ10, L-Arginine, Neevo, Melatonin, and just added in Estrace today. AF should start anytime between this weekend and next. At my CD 19 blood draw, my progesterone was 23, which they were happy with (I have no idea what the scale is.)

QOTD: It's hot here! What is your favorite way to cool down in the summertime?
I am ALWAYS cold, so I don't really look for ways to cool down. I look for ways to keep warm without looking ridiculous in my fleece! I do enjoy ice cream and the occasional Slurpee. Right now my favorite is Taco Bell's Freeze - half Typhoon, half Cherry.

I have less then 2 weeks until I get my AF and start BCP, so I might join in here! IVF #1 for me after a 2 year break and failed IUI. Been reading a lot of posts and a little nervous about what to expect from all the meds! I'll be on Menapur, Gonal-F, Ganirelix and Lupron...oh my! LOL Good luck to everyone!!

AFM- Last day of BCP is today woo hoo!! But still sad about the whole job thing, I'm just trying to look on the bright side. Had Baseline and all looks quiet so we are set to go! I'm so excited I can hardly sleep. We have some reporters coming over our house today to take pictures of our BBQ and trophies and write an article about us, we are the ones that do the Pro BBQ competitions so was cleaning ALL day today!

QOTD: Slurpees while swimming that definitely cools me down

It sounds like everyone is making some kind of progress.

I went for my 4/5 day US and blood work. I had 5-10 follicles on each side that were less then 12mm. My E2 is 98. No changes to my meds so we keep on keeping on.

Still on the vivelle patch. Just waiting on AF. Any day now!! I mean hurry up for craps sake!! Feeling under the weather today. Throat is sore. Not sure if it's allergies due to me running on the treadmill in our garage next to fresh lawn clippings on the lawn mower or if I'm getting sick. Either way my butt is in a detox bath as I type. Hoping to sweat it out. Blah :-w

QOTD: I live in MD so the summers are hot and humid. I run from the AC straight to our pool and back again. Rita's always helps too!!! Yummy!

QOTD: I don't have AC which sucks, hopefully we will be putting one in in the next few weeks. We do live quite close to DQ so we stop there pretty often in the summer. Or we take trips to stores, my in laws, my parents, my sister in law's, pretty much wherever we can to get out of the heat!

My transfer is tomorrow morning. I totally flaked on my acupuncturist and missed our appointment last night--- I had just gotten back from my clinic (an hour away) where I'd gotten a HCG transfer and had fallen asleep on the couch instead of driving to her office. When she called to basically nicely say "WTF?" I felt like such an idiot I could barely hold it together. Luckily DH was there to calm me down as I burst into tears when I got off the phone. He reminded me that acupuncture isn't going to make or break us this cycle while I beat myself up. He's a very understanding man, and I'm extremely lucky.

This morning I woke up feeling better about it, sent her a long text suggesting I pay for the missed appointment (it would make me feel better about being a flake) and decided the most important thing is to move on and try to stay as calm and welcoming for my little embies as possible.

Onward!

QOTD: My favorite way to cool down in the summer time is a frozen yogurt place that lets you add your own flavors/toppings. Yum! It's not so great health-wise, especially with the weight gain corresponding with my IF meds, but sometimes you just have to say "BLEEP it!" Am I right?

Second monitoring today showed 14 follies, so I feel WAY better than the last round where my ovaries were stubborn. Who knows if all will keep growing and what will happen after ER, but I'm just happy to have more to work with.

Sorry I'm late to the check-in party. Lots going on here. Rooting for everyone and sending BIG hugs to those who need them.

AFM: . Today will be day 9 of stimms for me. Everything is going well and we have quite a few follicles growing at this point and fortunately all of a similar size. Retrieval will hopefully be early next week (Sun,Mon). Depending on how many we get and the fert report this may or may not be a banking cycle. Trying to stay open minded to whatever happens, but if I need to bank and do another retrieval I am fully prepared to do so. We currently have two day 3 frozens from the last retrieval in April which are waiting to be batched with more and then eventually biopsied for PGD testing.

Hi ladies! Sorry I haven't updated here much - between work and the appointments I've been so busy.

But I am officially PUPO! They transferred 2 embryos today, day 4. One was 8 cell and one was 9 cell. Neither one was considered great quality at all but he didn't give me any specific rating. But it's all we had from the 7 retrieved so it is what it is. I'm so glad to have gotten to this point and hope that this time one of them becomes our take home baby!

Also, can someone talk to me abt cramping & what's normal and not? I asked the nurse abt it so I feel a little more reassured but just checking. Since my retrieval day Sun I have felt frequent sharp, localized pain on one or other ovary. Not enough to make me double over but definitely enough to make me catch my breath a little. This is normal right? I didn't have any cramping last time really so this is weird. Or before it was more general and not like I could feel it being my ovary specifically. I guess just looking for reassurance about that.

@anitaflora‌ thoughts and prayers to you and your embryos! I had that same cramping after my last ER, but not with my first. I thought it was strange since I had less retrieved that time. I had them infrequently, but they lasted several days.

@anitaflora‌ good luck! My transfer was yesterday. My last transfer I had such bad cramps for 5 days and today no cramping whats so ever. Strange. My Dr said it's normal. Maybe others will have more input.

@anitaflora‌ congrats! I also had two transferred this morning. I'm a little crampy but not too bad. My cramps were worse after my fresh transfer though. My nurse said it was normal. Now the 2ww begins! I'm getting more used to the PIO shots, but they still aren't the most fun way to wake up in the morning. :-) whatever it takes!
