this is a weekly thread for runners who are due June 2014, that is posted on Mondays. All who run--or who want to start running--are welcome, regardless of mileage, pace, ability, size, shape, or terrestrial status. This is a place to talk about running while pregnant, training, runs, races, gear, recovery, nutrition, and whatever else we can think of.

Anyone who posts here regularly should feel free to start the thread on Mondays if it seems to be missing.

how were your runs and workouts this week?  plus, how are you all dealing with recovery these days?

do you plan on running with your LO?

    hey workout buddies :)
workouts changed a lot for me last week!  i went to the gym once, yoga a few times and stuck to walking. i have been dealing with some unexpected lightening crotch which has put a damper on my usual routine.  hey, i am pretty far along so i cant complain!  plus the pain means he is getting low and getting ready to make his arrival :)

recovery has been much slower now that i am this far along. yoga is my best friend these days.
do you plan on running with your LO?
we dont have a running stroller because we decided that my runs should be my time alone. but now i am rethinking this!

  • My runs: they were good... I only got 2 in for a total of 5 miles. I did make it to yoga once too tho. Life has just blown up and gotten so busy. Hoping to make it out at least 3-4 times this week.

Running with baby: probably not, but I could change my mind. No jogging stroller yet tho.
  • You ladies are awesome for keeping up with your runs and workouts! I'm so ready to get back to my runs. I was never a long distance/strong runner, so I'm pretty sure I'll have to pick up C25K to get my endurance back up. I have a 5k fun run scheduled for the end of September and am using that as my motivation!

We've purchased a jogging stroller and so I plan to head out with him sometimes, but also plan to use some of the runs as my time as well.

  • The only running I did was chasing my daughter's ball rolling down the street and I was quickly reminded by my pubic bone why I had to stop running!

Running is "me" time. I run with music and won't get the same outcome if I'm constantly worried about a kid in a stroller. Plus we have hills here and it would make it that much harder.

Hi guys! Not a regular on this check in (more of a fun runner / hiker) but always enjoy seeing what you ladies have accomplished, especially this far along. The real runner in the family is my husband and so we bought a jogging stroller for him to use. He is going to share his running time with the baby while I use it as "me" time...
  • We got our jogging stroller. I am looking forward to delivering and healing so I can start ramping back up on the running.
I've got to hand it to everyone who kept it up during their pregnancies -- I'm regretting not doing it. I get wimpy when it's cold out. I'll run with y'all postpartum.

  • Well I think I'm sadly nearing the end of "real" running but I plan to up my walk frequency and distance in lieu of actual runs. I missed my group's run this weekend because I was having a bunch of contractions the night before and decided to play it safe and stay home. I hope to join them for the group run this Saturday and would like to get 3-4 miles in with them, and then walks the rest of the week. Its my last week at work so I will have more flexibility to fit everything in.

We were given a BOB stroller at my shower and I can't wait to use it! I already have a list of the trails I plan to take LO on. I hope to raise her with an appreciation for the outdoors from an early age and I think this is a great way to start. :)

Bravo, ladies! I am still doing prenatal yoga class, and practicing at home. I actually walked around the block this morning (1/2 mile) which was a great feat! I am 39 weeks so anything I can manage makes me feel better.
I do plan to run with Baby J, but it sounds like shorter runs, and definitely not until after 6 months because of the stroller. I'll just have to wait for DH to be home to get my runs in!

Keep up the good work! xx
  • Way to go ladies!

Still recovering over here - have a BOB that I cannot wait to use though!  I will get out during the day while DH is at work and then on the weekends I will go out alone!  Cannot wait!
