I really hope #2 is a girl too so my girls can share/want to share a room - late night giggles! My sister and I chose to for many years. I'm sure its not quite that right now...but someday, so fun!
They both fell asleep within a few minute of being in there. We decided on last night because both girls were totally exhausted and we knew they would pass out the minute we put them in bed. DD2 stayed asleep in there until 5:15 at which point she fussed a little. DH ran and got her and I nursed her and we all fell back to sleep but with DD2 with us. DD1 was not bothered at all. We do have white noise on in the room. DD1 is in a toddler bed and DD2 is in a crib.
DD1 woke up at like 9:00 am or something ridiculously late today. DD2 got up for the day at 8:30 am.
I did find I woke up several times missing DD2. I guess I will get used to it. Like so many others have said, the transition was not as bad as I thought, but of course they were exhausted. We will see how it goes tonight with them on their more normal schedule.
DD2 has been in room with DD1 for months. I did find that I had to leave the noise machine in our room on at night I think so I wasn't freaked out by the silence. I didn't have the same issue with DD1 who was in her room from day 1. Glad the first night went so well. Hope it continues!
