With a late aug lo I always feel like we're so far behind. With new videos of A13 babies WALKING popping up almost daily, it's hard not to compare sometimes. I know a few others have voiced this perspective in the past as well,
So tell me what your lo isn't doing.
Yes, all babies develop at their own pace. I know S is fine & is right where she needs to be, but sometimes it's nice to know you're not alone.
Re: Things your lo DOESN'T do
Not eating much (maybe 1/4 cup per meal) or drinking from a sippy cup (but she loves to chuck it across the room).
Not trying to mimic things I do, she just does her own thing. Not doing many things on command (clapping, waving), only when she feels like it.
Not babbling much. We get mama & baba....and shrieks & yells.
Not doing calculus or the dishes...we're working on those. Also not potty trained or writing her name yet, but I'm hopeful that will happen soon.
Or crawling
No clapping
Not really eating any foods
Mostly milk.
Doesn't sleep through the night yet.
And she doesn't really sign any words anymore.
He doesn't really wave or do anything on command.
They'll be ONE in just over 3weeks. Holy shit.
They are both still peanuts.
She doesnt put herself to sleep or know how to suck from a straw.
No waving, no clapping really, no words, he babbles but no mamas or dadas. Just barely 2 teeth. Not a very good pincer grasp at all. Both boys were/are very gross motor but fine motor and verbal looks to be slower.
I'm not worried about it, though. He'll get there eventually. (Although the STTN I'm not so sure.

He won't hold his own bottle. He's a lazy boy because he has zero trouble handling his sippy.
He doesn't clap but he does wave.
No mama, just dada & papa. Those are really his only words right now. Although I swear he says "hey" and "hi" often!
No sippy cup. She can use one, but we have to take the valve off due to her low suction. So, I just hold it for her. She claps and is working on the waving but it's random, not on command. She says momma but that is it. She also growls and barks, thanks dogs. Also, no cooking, cleaning or sewing. But I'm hoping month 10 changes that.
ETA: we're on tooth #6. So, she appears to be an over acheiver that department at least.
But he can point and grunt at things. And he waves goodbye to visitors (he's not a fan of adults).
Pulling up
STTN
Eating much solids
Clapping or waving
