We are looking at a later Dc in the fall and DD has been waking way early so I think it's time to shift bedtime. When do your LO's go down? Bonus if you write waketime below :)

  • Ok seriously I give up.  The poll thingy keeps posting early.  Sorry folks.

  • Sorry your poll won't work! I have no idea how to do a poll, lol. DD goes down for the night around 10:00 and is usually up around 11:00. DH works nights and is home with her during the day, so a late schedule works great for us. Bonus...I get to sleep in on weekends! When DD was younger, her bedtime was much earlier (around 7:30), but we were able to gradually transition to a later schedule starting around 9 months.

DS#2 is down pretty much at 6:30.  We keep hoping he will start going down later with DS#1 (7:30) since when DS#3 gets here the older boys will be sharing a room.  No signs of that happening yet though!  At 6:30, DS#2 is done!  We got lucky and both boys sleep/play quietly in bed until about 8/8:30 on no-preschool days.

  • OK so do any of your little people nap????  I broke out ferber's book last night and it said that LO's rarely ACTUALLY sleep 12 hours at night at this age and that 10 is much more likely with a 2 hour day nap.  DD sleeps closer to 2.5 hours, sometimes 3 during the day but 10 hours is our average at night.  I cannot believe how many of you have the same bedtime as we do and have people staying in bed till 8am!!!  She has never slept till 8 in her whole life, even sick.

My LO has never slept longer than 10 hrs a night either. Bedtime is usually 8ish and wake time is 6- naps are so unpredictable but I'd say 1 hr to 2 1/2 hrs per day

  • My DD doesn't always nap. Sometimes she will take a 30 minute cat nap in the late afternoon. With 12+ hours of sleep at night, she doesn't usually need a nap anymore. We stopped forcing naps a couple of months ago because she wouldn't be tired at bedtime (10:00 pm) and would be up until midnight!

  • When she was getting up at 6:45 for daycare her bedtime was 6. When she doesn't have to get up that early it is between 7-8 unless we are out and she is ok. Then she gets up between 9-10am.

DS was going to sleep around 9:30/10pm, but I've put blackout curtains in his room and now get him down between 7 and 8pm.

It hasn't changed his wake time (6:30am) or his nap time (11am/12pm) at all, but he's been less grumpy during the day getting more sleep.
  • DD usually goes down around 730. Wake up is usually between 630 and 730

Bedtime is 6, wakes up at 630-7

    ETA nap is 1030-1/130
  • I aim for 7:15 to 7:30, but sometimes its as late as 8:00 before she's in bed.  She awakes on her own by around 6:30 a.m.

  • 7-7 is average she takes about an hour and a half nap

I know she doesn't sleep all night, I hear her talk sometimes or even whine, but I ever have to go in there (knock on wood) to settle her back down (unless she is sick).

Bedtime is 7, but he doesn't usually go to sleep right away. During the week he wakes up around 6:15. Naps are about 2 hours.

  • My guy goes to sleep between 7:15 and 8 pm
Wakes up about 2 times during the night
Gets up for the day at 6:30 am almost on the dot (even with blackout curtains and noise machine)
Takes a 1 hour nap around noon, sometimes I can convince him to snuggle on me and sleep for another hour in the glider while I snooze or surf the internet on my phone.

  • Taylor goes down between 7:30 and 8 and is up somewhere between 6:30-7:30. When he rarely sleeps later than that, I always worry lol. He just shifted from 2 naps on weekends to one 2-3 hr nap per day. He's always slept extra (it took him until almost a year to get out of 3 naps a day).

Berkley goes to bed at pretty much 7:30 on the dot. When I was teaching I'd have to get her up around 6:30 to get off to work in time, but now that its summer she'll sleep till 7:15-7:45. She also takes a 2-3 hour nap around noon every day. We don't use a baby monitor anymore, since her room is ridiculously close to ours, but I don't think she's waking up at night.

Nope. My DD is a 12-hour sleeper, non-napper. She usually goes down between 8 and 9 and I don't see her until 8 or 9 the next morning. Then we have a veeeeeerrryyy long day together!
