  • @pistolpackinmomma‌ one of my dissolvable stitches is poking out of my incision also. It's right at the point where they started the incision and I have an irrational fear that if I pull it out my whole incision will open up even though I'm 4 weeks out and it's totally closed up.

My MIL offered to get pliers and help me. Ummm thanks, I'm good. I'm thinking of waiting until DH gets home.

    1) DS is not gaining enough weight. We are following the pedi's advice with feeding but still need to go back for yet another weight check next week.

    2) constipated + hemmoroid is no fun. Colace isn't really helping...

Just yank it lol! I would worry about it catching it on something. But I would imagine something crazy would happen too.
  • The first two weeks of recovery have been rough. I had hemorrhoids the size of an egg for the first week plus bruised nipples and an unsatisfied newborn. Now I'm dealing with a forceful letdown. Hemorrhoids are much better this week thanks to miralax, tucks. Rx proctofoam, an anal suppository and my peri bottle.

Welcomed our rainbow baby 5/20/2014! It's a girl!

I started the mini pill yesterday, my supply is down WAY down, but I can't really believe it would be effected this quickly. I'm emailing my doctor I guess :-S as a result my daughter is way cranky today. On top of this they are repaving the parking lot in my complex while the neighboring unit gets rehabed so everytime I do get her relatively settled some loud bang sets her off again.
  • She (adorable baby Orabelle that vacated me four weeks ago) won't let me set her down today. My mom gets here tomorrow and she may have to clean the living room herself when she gets here so she has somewhere to sleep since this little one won't lay down and won't sit in the swing!

  • I have thrush. So that's awesome.

I love DH, but he works all the time and then when he's home he doesn't help much. He just wants to sit with DS and "hang out and watch puck". Dude, I could seriously use your help with dinner or laundry. And since I'm not working he thinks DS and I nap all day and do nothing. Oh hey! Staying at home with a newborn is all fun and games, which includes tons of naps! Wth.

Got some frustrating news about my job and co-workers. Sounds like administration is cleaning house. Which means all new staff next year and some really good teachers had contracts not renewed. I'm pretty pumped that DH has decided to let me stay home full time.

My MIL has basically become the mother from Everybody loves raymond.  She calls every day asking to come over. I have started making up plans to be too busy for her to come over.  When she comes over, she doesnt tell me what time ( I at least usually know what day) and she just lets herself in...Hullo...I am breast feeding...half the time, in the morning I'm walking around in just a bra.  Yesterday, DH whole family came over for a cook out.  DS was sleeping and every 5 minutes she would ask " Can I hold him? Can I hold him? You'll let me know when I can hold him right?"  I was like just let the baby sleep!  And then at one point he stretched...babies do that when sleeping.  She runs over "OH! He's waking up!" Picks him up and starts poking at him to wake up.  Of course, he does...but he has a dirty diaper and she walks over to me saying he smells like lemon?  Apparently that's her way of saying he has a dirty diaper.  my response was "yeah so?"  Honestly woman, If you're going to wake up my baby, you can change the diaper yourself!"

  • Stupid thrush nips that cause insane radiating boob pain.
  • I have a three year old and let's just say his behavior these days means my fussy newborn is the least of my problems. Ugh. Three is HARD.

  • @ebuge‌ Funny my DH thinks the same thing about staying home with a newborn, he always looks completely irritated and baffled on why I didn't get to the laundry or something that day

I have a 2.5 yo and I feel you. I keep hoping 3 is better but I keep hearing otherwise.

  • Update on my staple issue: when I went to get in the shower I noticed it had worked it's way out a little more and I was able to pull it the rest of the way out, well what was left of it anyhow, sans pain.

However, now I need to add that DS1 has a temp of 103 so we get to go to the dr tomorrow! Yay us! And my MIL is *awesome* to deal with along with a sick kid! <--sarcasm font!! Is it Friday yet? Or rather Saturday since that's probably when DH will actually get to come home.

  • @Jennyinheaven DH came home from work tonight and literally said, "If you're not too busy tomorrow do you think you could focus on getting our laundry done?" He also shared that it's driving him crazy that I still have gifts on the dining room table that I haven't put away yet. So if I could take care of those that would be great. It's funny how he has no idea what a chore it is to try and take a shower, let alone take the dog out more than once a day! And yes, I'd love to do laundry, considering everything I wear is covered in spit up and leaky milk.

Everyone says give the three year old more positive attention. So tonight I handed the crying baby off to MH and thought I would read some books to DS1, just the two of us. Except when I tried, he ripped the book and kicked me. So. Straight to bed it was, with lots of screaming. It made me really sad - I want to spend time with him and have fun and he always makes me be the bad guy instead.

It took almost 2 weeks for my 16 month old to come around after bringing the baby home. It's hard and I cried, a lot, but we remained firm with the rules/consequences we had in place before but still tried to give him extra cuddles when we could. The tantrums sucked and he even decided to start banging his head on everything (the pedi assured us it would be ok) making it even harder to watch.

  • I'm still pregnant. Was having CX in regular intervals that became increasingly intense for about and hour and a half last night. I was sure this was it. Called my MW who just happened to be on call at my hospital and she told me to hydrate and rest and call her once they became too strong to sleep through. Crawled in bed amped up thinking we'd be rushing to the hospital in a few short hours and then- bam. Stopped. Nothing progressed. And here I lay, a mopey mess because it's another morning waking up sans outside baby.

100% understand and just want to offer hugs also, bc I know how much it sucks.

I tried to take DS1 to Target with me and told him we would get a special treat (a small icee) and that it would be our fun outing together bc he typically loves going shopping with me and he acted like a nightmare....screaming fit and asked me no less than 15 times if we could go home. It seriously hurt my feelings!

Feeling you guys with toddlers. I stayed with DS2 in the hospital while he was in the NICU for 2 weeks. DS1 came to visit us several times and I tried to give him lots of attention when he did, but he was still upset with me.

When we finally came home he wouldn't give me hugs or hold my hand because "you didn't come back, Mommy." Broke my heart. It gets better though. We're almost 2 months in now and he's a very devoted big brother and wants to hold my hand again.
